Jon & Kate Plus 8 I've been watching the show....I have seen many many episodes (probably all of them). Its interesting and neat to see the children grow and how the parents handle them. I would say Im fan of the family, but not particularly the show. I dont know how anyone else feels about this, but I dont understand why parents would willingly allow them to video tape bath time and show it on t.v. like that . There is a lot of evilness in the world and child preditors, why could they expose their children to the world in what should be private situations? I think thats crossing the line. The kids are used to the cameras being there and even probably dont even notice them because of that, but how are they going to feel about this in a few years from now? All of their school friends have seen them in the bath tub like that? I just think bath time should be off-limits and private. I think the parents are making a lot of money off of the shows and the children get to do wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than mine ever do. They are given extravagant vacation packages by resorts and stuff...but honestly, I wouldnt want a camera crew following us on our vacations and fun outings. When do the kids get a break from it? Plus-the parents have really gotten awesome gifts from those who have sympathy for them. A free tummy tuck??? Com'on.....now im really jealous!!! I had a couple of kids and a miracle birth-nobody offered me a single thing but expensive doctor bills! I was trying to take a nap today while watching the show, but hahaha I couldnt sleep because of all of the chaos on the television. What crazy lives they live. I guess maybe Im just jealous...the parents have so much time to do stuff with all of those kids and we dont get to do all of that because Im working mother, BUT my children are just as special as theirs! I had a rough pregnancy, was hospitalized, became deathly ill and had my baby prematurely...I understand the whole miracle of life plus Im a twin myself. My mother had 6 kids, but we all HAD to go to work to support my family. Nothing has ever been given to us just because we could pop out a bunch of babies... Nevertheless, they are good parents! Kate is soooooooooooo hard on Jon. She's always knocking him down and putting him on the spot during the interviews, kinda have to feel sorry for him. I think sometimes she just needs to relax and let the small stuff go. I think they are good parents and set good examples for people with big families. Parents can benefit from watching and relate. One toddler in a bad mood versus 6 in a bad mood---they all make you feel stress. Sometimes it just makes you sit and think. Yes, having 6 babies at one time is indeed special, but I dont understand what makes them anymore special than everyone else who has had children or raising multiples. |
I love that show! Its so addicting!! Its really neat to watch the kids grow and see their adventures. Alot of people say their exploiting their children and blah blah blah... I think they're jealous of all the opportunities the family has now because of the show. Heck, if I had 8 kids, I know I'd want to find a way to feed them. I agree they do seem like good parents. |
I've watched every episode of Jon and Kate since the beginning and I do agree that they are good parents. However lately I've noticed that Kate has been acting like a total snob. Like the way that she acts towards Jon and everyone in general... this all started when she lost a bunch of weight, started dressing to the hilt, tanning, always having her nails done, ect. I can just see a TOTAL difference in her attitude and personality lately. Anyone else notice this?! Honestly, I don't think their marriage will last much longer. Also In the season finale Jon said he didn't want to do another season. |
oh wow.....didnt know that about their marriage, but it doesnt surprise me. She does seem snobby. Heck I would probably too haha She acts kinda goody-two-shoes and nags Jon too much. I dont deny being jealous of all of the opportunities they have :) |
I've heard that they are getting a divorce, it could just be a rumor..who knows! I also heard that Jon cheated on Kate..probably also a rumor. Too bad though if it is true, because I enjoy the show. Sometimes I feel bad for Jon though, because Kate treats him like one of her children. Always bossing him around, cracking jokes about him. I guess she wears the pants! |
I'm actually watching this right now. I really like their show which is funny because I really don't even like being around kids and never want to have any. I think they do a great job raising their kids and I don't see how the show is harming them. In fact because of it they've been able to buy a bigger house and go on vacations which is great for the kids. I do think Kate can be hard on jon but with all those kids I can see how she has to run things just so and I'm sure it can be stressful. They are not getting a divorce. TLC made the preview for the season finale appear like they were having marital problems but it really turned out to be that jon isn't sure he wants to continue doing the show because they never have privacy. I hope they do. I really enjoy watching a reality show that is actually real and Im amazed they are able to do what they do as a family. |
I have watched this show from the very beginning - before it was a "series". I have to say that while I do like watching it so that I can see how the kids are growing up, the whole show has turned into a mess. Kate has really changed - for the worse - and Jon is becoming more and more of a mouse. She treats him horribly. There's a site called Gosselins without Pity that has been a huge eye opener for me if anyone wants to check it out.... Gosselins Without Pity Sometimes the people on this site can get a little "too much" with their negativity about the show but for the most part, they are right on the nose with their comments. |

I heard he was out with college kids to while visiting his mom. I hope they can work it out for the kids sake. |

I used to watch this show and truthfully it was because I found Kate's bitchiness entertaining. After a while though it just became incredibly irritating. She just comes across as a very ugly woman to me. I did watch the season finale though and I felt so bad for Jon. He seriously looked like he's on the verge of a breakdown.:( It's sad to watch a grown man be emasculated once a week for a TV audience. I also think having your children grow up in front of a national audience is wrong. When those kids are teenagers they probably aren't going to be thrilled knowing the whole world has watched them bathe and has heard all about every gross poo incident. |
:thumbup:I too am addicted to the show. I believe for the amount of kids that they have it pays for Kate to have OCD. She is really very organized. I too think she is rough on Jon,but she does love him,and I actually heard they were having troubles lately. I heard he cheated on her. I don't know if you've noticed this season, they are debating wheather to keep going or not. I love the organic aspect of it. Likes it's not hard enough feeding this crew, but she feeds them the very best. I believe they are very committed to their family. Now that freaky Octuplet mom...she's a nightmare:eek: ...but that s another post...lol;) |
I love this show and I watch it all the time I have noticed Kate really change since they moved and now they have a full time helper who does not want to be shown on tv. I did hear that they were at Mr Chows in LA last night and made comments to the press that they are together and their marriage is fine. Jon did state in the final episode that he was unhappy with not being able to go anywhere or do anything without having people up in his business. I think that is just one of the things they should have thought about before doing the show because its to late to go back now. |

eta: On the season finale I wanted to scream when she kept talking about "culturing" her children. I kept picturing them in petri dishes.:p |

I watch the show only occasionally now b/c one of their kids irritates the crap outta me! I like kids, I have 3 of my own but THAT kid...omg I can't stand to see her. As for Jon and Kate....imo....fame and money do sometimes change people in odd ways, makes you think certain rules no longer apply to you I guess, but in reality, we'll never know whats hype and whats truth. At the end of the day it's really down to them anyway. Too many broken families today, so I wish them the best. |

I can't stand Kate or Mady UGH!!!!! I feel so sorry for Jon and the rest of the little angels. Mady needs a good butt whoopin!!! She is a whinner just like her mother. Kate always looks to good to be a full time parent and a "domestic engineer" she's a fake. Ever notice they never have house guests or relatives visit? They don't have friends over to play cards or cook out...hmmm. We viewers just bought them a beautiful home just so Kate will be happy. Love the show:Dgives me reasons to b!t@h:eek: |
I honestly agree with most of the criticism, but i just can't help myself....I LOVE that darn show! I am literally addicted ;) Wish I wasn't but I am. Hi, my name is Adrienne and I am a Jon & Kate Plus 8 addict. Ha ha :p:p:p |

They claim that at the end of each season that they take a family vote on whether to continue the show but I think this time Kate is the final vote and she's not wanting to give it up because of all the ways she is benefiting from it. Jon "says" he's not sure either but really, I don't see him wanting to go out in the real world and actually WORK either. I do want the show to continue because I like keeping up with the kids but when it negatively affects the kids, it's time to wrap it up. They don't even show Cara and Mady much anymore. I think it's by their own choice. Cara has become very quiet and withdrawn and Mady's "issues" have been more pronounced. It's probably best to leave them out of it most times. |

And no, they don't show any family or friends anymore because they have run them all off. It's been said that the reason Kate's parents aren't involved is because they "don't have the same ideals" but I've heard that they accused Kate of exploiting the kids and now she doesn't let them be a part of her family. Just like she ran her sister-in-law and her "best friend" off. Her friend co-wrote her first book and now has been kicked to the curb. And her SIL ticked her off a time too many (remember the gum episode?) and has now been kicked to the curb too. But still, it's like watching a train wreck, isn't it?? You know you shouldn't watch but you just can't help it! :D |
While I like the show I think Jon is really pathetic, he is like a mouse and Kate reminds me of the queen bossing everyone around!! I think they are good parents but often wonder what example they set for thier children! It seems to me that everyone good that appears in thier life are only there for a short while! I mean they dont have a relationship with the grand parents, all of a sudden Auntie Jodi wanted to get paid and she is no longer on the show.. Kate seems to be always begging talking about how they need this and that ect. I cant imagine that those kids know the importance of family when people are just thrown out of thier lives at will.. I found this site interesting! Gosselins Without Pity |
skip to main | skip to sidebar Webxnews Jon & Kate Plus 8 is a reality television show produced in the United States by Figure 8 Films about Gosselin family, consisting of parents Jon and Kate and their eight children-a set of fraternal two girls and a set of sextuplets. The show follows the family through their daily lives, focusing on the challenges of raising multiple children. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_A70LjEkUHN...kate+photo.jpg The couple appears to have serious marriage problems now that Jon has started spending increasing amounts of time away from home and partying with college girls. In a Feb. 6 incident, Jon was reportedly hanging out at Mimi's martini bar in Huntingdon, Penn. easily three hours away from the new home he and Kate moved into with their children, when he met some girls from Juniata College who invited him to a house party. He walked in with two girls he met at Mimi's bar, a senior tells the magazine. He was dirty dancing with several of them, making out, kissing them on their necks and mouths. it was rather surprising for a father with his wife and so many kids at home to be acting like this. Jon then started to play beer pong and then follow the party with a nightcap at Memories Sports Bar & Grill, where he allegedly got drunk, flirted with Juniata girls and told one, We might be getting a divorce. Remember the ice cream incident? she spilled some on the shirt of one of the girls and started throwing a fit... Some of my fondest memories are of my kids getting dirty--they love it and thats just what kids do. I love seeing my boys play in the mud haha. |

Yes, I remember the ice cream. And just about any time they try to do something that would get them dirty and she just has a conniption over it. Ridiculous and very sad for those kids. I think it was little Aaden that was very concerned when he got paint on himself on this week's episode. He kept going on about it. She's already given the kids complexes about being dirty. |
