Octo Mom gets a free home and free nursing care!
 
Here is the story from People:

Octuplets' Mom Getting Bigger House, Free Nurses - Babies : People.com

I hope whoever is giving her the money for this home cleared up the debt from the home she is living in! It upsets me to think she is walking away from a home where the mortgage hasn't been paid in a year!
I certainly want these babies to have the best nursing care, but I hope there are not any other babies in need in that area that won't be getting the service because all the money and resources are being depleted here!

There are so many things that come to mind that I want to say. Most would probably not be appropriate so I'm really going to try to sensor myself and limit my comments to saying a few things.

I think the lesson this is teaching is that you can be so FULLY and OUTRAGEOUSLY IRRESPONSIBLE and people will bail you out. These children deserve a good life... no child deserves anything less... but I for one am not convinced it should be with her. And last but not least, I hope that she can no longer have more chidren and pray this is her last "business arrangement" paid for or not.

I keep wanting to add more but I'm going to leave it at that and quickly hit the submit button now. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone.

I agree. I hope that the babies do okay. I just feel bad for other new parents who are stuggling with their situations and do not have the ability to get this type of support.

How is her father able to purchase this house when they walked away from theirs and are in arrears in the current house? Where did the money come from? In his interview with Oprah, he said he had $100 in his savings account - "Maybe".

I agree 100% with both of you.. only in America you can be so irresponsible and get rewarded for it.. there are many hard working americans struggling now and this irresponsible woman gets a free ride..
I agree the children should not suffer but she is riding them all the way to the bank..:mad:

I wanted to say more as well. I'm sure if it was just the woman, she wouldn't be getting any help. It's all about the children and they do deserve a good life.
I'm with you, I hope and pray she will not have any further babies!

That is what saddens me, the other struggling parents who are responsible and can't get help.
I didn't see the father's interview, but I sure would like to know who is footing the bill for these people.

I know and what worries me is she's getting the nursing help and so forth now because they are tiny babies and people are worried about them. What happens once they are toddlers and the nurses are gone? People aren't going to want to help as much when it's 14 toddlers and small children running around, what happens then?
Her parents are in their mid-70s and she has no siblings.
Based on her 911 calls, the woman doesn't seem to handle stress well and raising 14 alone is going to more than overwhelming!

Yep it sure did. Now I'm just waiting to hear what they are going to call the reality TV show that she wants. It wouldn't surprise me if part or all of the money for the house came from whom ever will be doing production for a show if one is for sure in the plans. They wouldn't want an unsighly backdrop for a reality show so it is plausable.

Actually, it was her Moms home she was living in, her mom is the one responsible for paying the 20 some thousand that they're behind. The Octomom even said she should have been paying more for rent that she did.
I don't think this lady is mentally capable of taking care of her kids. I watched a video online of her with her 2 year old little boy slapping her. Instead of telling him gentle, I would have gave him a tap on the butt and put him over on the couch to sit

This story makes my stomach sick. When you have children already that you have no means to take care of and them opt to have multiple births again, that is just plain irresponsible.
Why is anyone bailing her out? What happens to the average person who cannot care for their children? We encourage outrageous behavior in this country by even giving her story air time.
There are so many people in crisis in this economy and it is not of their own doing. Those are the people I want to see get assistance.
I saw a family on tv in Ohio where both parents worked for the same factory and lost their jobs. I think they had 3 children. They lost their home and went to live with either his or her mother. While staying with her, she got served with foreclosure papers. Those are people in true crisis and they should get the media attention not the people who choose outrageous acts to get into the limelight. :confused:

It's one of those double edge sword situations where you want to wish good things for the children but the mom is a whole different story. Like Morkie4 said... I know and Dr. Phil I think is dedicating two shows again today and tomorrow to this woman. Who in the world is taking care of the six at home while this woman is running all over doing interviews? How much time does she spend with them or even at the hospital with all her time in the limelight!
One out of every 8 homes are in foreclosure, it does make you wonder who is helping her!

This woman obviously has poor judgement. While we may want to punish HER for her stupidity, we can't allow the children to pay the consequences for her mistakes. With that said, those children are lucky that there is charitable people out there that will look beyond the mothers possible ulterior motives and assist in helping these kids.
More than likely, she will not be able to take these 8 babies home with her. Child services will be monitoring the situation. Dr. Phil has been counseling this woman and trying to get her to see the situation realisticaly...she may have to allow the children to be adopted....She now needs to do what is best for these kids.....Sadly there is no easy solution.....

It seems that way all over America.... those who try to do the right thing and be responsible people end up getting screwed while those who are stupid/irresponsible get things handed to them. I see this with where I live and going to college.... how I work hard, own a house and have no kids and pay FULL price with NO help to go to college (even though I don't make a ton of money) yet I see girls who have 3 kids at 18 years old, not married, living on welfare and getting FREE education. :mad: Its soooo frustrating! It teaches our future generations such BAD lessons. I am not looking for handouts, Im looking for handouts to stop being handed out to those who do not deserve them.

Not to mention I need to refinance my house, and cannot do it because I do not have $18,000 in the bank to do it, but I can afford a 30 year fixed mortgage payment on my own... yet she can get a FREE house??? Ive never defaulted on ANY loans, never mind a mortgage! :mad:

I couldn't agree more! It seems like the responsible people are always getting the short end of the stick and having to pay for and clean up after those who are doing wrong and being irresponsible!
I love your statement that you are not looking for a handout, but looking for handouts to stop being given to those who do not deserve them! It's so frustrating and now it's even worse with the economy being what it is!

I'm fed up with her and Dr.Phil. I think he is as bad as she is - if it weren't for the ratings she is bringing his show Dr. Phil would have nothing to do with her! He is as big a publicity hound as she is!

Let Dr. Phil go into some really deprived areas of the world (where the children are forgotten about daily and have been for decades) and show off all of his humanitarian good will.......PUHLEEESE!!:(

They'll need some huge donations to keep that help coming. I think there should be someone managing the money, other than herself. She will go and get herself more plastic surgery, fingernails done and I'm sure she's got massive excess skin hanging off her belly that will be a number one priority. Of course, that would be more important than spending it on her kids. She also thrives on all the attention she is getting and is loving that. I hope and pray there is no reality show to give her yet, more attention. I do care about those children, but there's a lot of other children in need that aren't getting any help. That lady is a nut job.

I heard it on the news about a week ago.

Of course people will be curious and watch and the ratings
will go threw the roof.

Exactly! I mean she didn't care enough about the six at home having what they needed or she wouldn't have spent money on all these fertility treatments when that could have gone towards living expenses (like her poor Mom's mortgage) and putting money away for her kids education. When you think of the thousands and thousands of dollars she paid to that Dr. and how far that could have gone, it's just sick!

The company that was reportedly giving her the free in home care released a statement saying that they never offered her the care and never has been or will be associated with her. They are threating legal action if anyone uses there name.

I don't know why, but I would have guessed NBC for some reason. Unreal. Well the video should go a long way in building a case for CPS if needed.
