Puppy Mill Protester Tackled by Mall Cops * Protester Tackled By Mall Cop During Peaceful Protest [The Veg Blog] He was just trying to voice his opinion. What happened to freedom of speech? |
Well considering I'm "Mom" to an ex puppymill survivor, I saw nothing wrong with these kids expressing their freedom of speech. They weren't harassing any customers or anyone else. As for the young man being put in handcuffs, it's a sad day when a person cannot raise their voice in this country. Word needs to get out about puppymills and to get the attention of the public. One only needs to go to the website prisonersofgreed to see the real story.:animal-pa |
While I'm all for stopping puppy mills isn't a mall considered private property? If so, I don't know if "freedom of speech" is applicable. |

Good point! I hadn't thought of that either! But still, Good for them!!!! :D |
I don't get it, they guy wasn't even cheering. That was a bit weird. He was just standing there for all I can see, just like a lot of the people there. Maybe there's audio to it, but I'm in the library so shhhh!!! I'll watch it again when I get home. |
I think everyone should make a thousand copies about information on puppy mills, and hand them out in front of every pet store that sells animals, but be careful how close you stand in front of the store. Find out first the law about how many feet. |
Kyle - I hadn't even thought of that. Someone should look that up! I would, but I'm too lazy right now. :p I'd really like to know the answer to this though. Because if not, then there could be a serious issue there. I think what they should've done was protested outside the mall, not just outside the store. I do find it interesting though that the cheerleaders were there for like 5 minutes and no one did anything, and as soon as the guy started talking security was tackling him. That's not fair. |

That just was unfair, even if the mall is private property. At least they sent a message to those who stood around for a while. Let's just hope that message sinks in. |
Even though the message was loud and clear, I think the bimbos with the pompoms should have been escourted off the property as well. Their tactics are VERY much like peta. Not only are they disturbing the business at the pet store, they are disturbing the other businesses in the mall. These people fall into the same catagory as the protestors at military funerals. |

What a perv that security guard was. Didn't seem to have any problem getting his little own show. Guess the guy protester should have worn a skirt.:p There are laws on protesting on private property and they weren't exactly sneaky about it.:D |
