End of chemo!!!
 
I have wonderful news!! My 5 yr old son Evan, has finished his 2 yrs of chemo. We are officially through today!!! :clapsmileWe went to clinic today and although his counts are good he has been running a fever and has a couple of mouth sores (side effects from the chemo). But he is in remission and I thank GOD that HE has brought us through these last 2 yrs. Evan goes next week to have a spinal and bone marrow biopsy to make sure there is NED (no evidence of disease). As long as Evan stays in remission he will be considered cured in the year 2014!!

YAY!!!!! I am so excited for Evan. It is always so nice to hear good news for a change. I will keep your family in my Prayers. Cancer sucks, I have lost my mom and sister to it. Good luck Evan. :):):)

I don't mind you asking at all. He had Stage IV Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma - it is similar to Luekemia. I just realized that his link didn't come up in my first post. If you got to the caringbridge site go to visit and then click on "more ways to visit" then put in evandwooten It should work then for anyone wanting to learn more.;)

Thank God! Going though chemo is tough at any age and I fully understand about the mouth sores. I can't imagine what your family has been going though especially at his age. God bless all of you. Hugs and prayers.

Yay!!! I know the feeling!! I remember when my five year old daughter finished her 2 1/2 years of chemo for leukemia. You are so happy they are done, but it's scary, too. Thankfully, she is now 21 years old and can't really remember any of it, only the fun times, riding around the halls of the hospital, etc.

What a relief that must be for you and your family. My nephew went through a similar situation when he was 3.. he is 25 now and cancer free! :D

I think that is awesome. You are blessed. What a journey. I wish you and your family coninued remission and good health. Your post was truly moving and inspirational. My niece is 9 years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia in July 2008. She is going to have to do 2-3 years ahead of her. She is in remission.Thank God. Doing Chemo very aggressively. Best wishes to you and yours.
