Menu Ideas Needed For Super Bowl Party I am hosting a super bowl party on Sunday and need some menu ideas. I am mainly looking for some snack and appetizer ideas. Any good suggestions? |
Here's one my friends and family love... Bacon-Wrapped Smokies Pour out approx. 1 cup brown sugar in flat pan and spread out. Press 1/2 slice of bacon strip on each side in brown sugar. Roll little smoky sausage link in bacon and secure with toothpick. Bake at 350 until bacon is done. These are sinfully delicious!! |
Ham roll ups are a favorite in my house. You take a slice of ham, and spread on some cream cheese that has dill mixed in it. I soften the cream cheese and mix about 1 –3 tsp of dried dill per package of cream cheese, and I probably use about a tablespoon of cream cheese on each slice, but I'm not sure. I spread it with a rubber spatula very thin over the whole slice. Add a Clausen Kosher Dill pickle wedge and roll the whole thing up. You would use about 1/6 of a pickle on each slice. Bar-S premium deli ham works well for this, it's cut to the right thickness, and it's rectangular shaped, you roll them up, short side to short side. The guys seem to like to eat the whole thing in a log, but I usually cut them and put toothpicks in them if women are coming. You can make them a day ahead, and just pack in a plastic container with a paper towel, at the bottom to absorb any moisture. If there are any left over, which never happens unless you make an awful lot of them, they keep really well for about a week. Oh yeah, and go Cardinals! |
I'm so glad you posted this, I need ideas as well! Go Steelers! :p |
I know the one thing I am making for sure is Muddy Buddy Mix. There are never any leftovers and it is so simple to make. 9 cups Corn Chex®, Rice Chex®, Wheat Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination) 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup peanut butter 1/4 cup butter or margarine 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar 1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside. 2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag. 3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator. |
How about Taco dip... We brown the ground beef...add taco seasoning... Then Layer ..starting with Cream cheese,(1 block) then refried beans (warmed), then sprinkle with shredded cheese..(the kind you like on tacos)..then salsa...then meat..and more shredded cheese on top....We usually eat it with the "Scoops" ... It is delicious..... Just layer on a plate...Spread softened cream cheese to cover plate...and go from there.... :) |
WE always have to have Chicken wings. I like old bay wings best. Just make the deep fry ( or oven bake) chicken wings and then sprinkle them with some old bay and seasoning salt . We also have regular (saucy) hot wings. Also everyone loves crab balls here. |
Chicken Wing Dip 3 cans White Chicken Breast Meat 2 Jars Wing Sauce-your choice 1 Bag shredded CoJack Cheese 2 Packages Cream Cheese Put all in Crock Pot-serve with crackers! Everyone loves this-it is fast & easy!!!! |
First get out your terrible towel...swing it around in the air a few times & call the local wing place. GO STEELERS!!!! |

I totally hate those typical "football" foods. Pizza, wings, chips... .JUNK! I wanna watch a game with a FULL stomach. We're having friends over and i'm making italian. Homemade stuffed shells (pasta) Salad with homemeade dressing Bruschetta Mint Chocolate Brownies Margaritas :D |
Here's my super secret recipe that everyone goes crazy for! At work, when we have potluck lunches I don't even get a choice anymore - I HAVE to bring these. Either make your own meatballs or just buy the premade ones (I usually just buy a bag of the frozen premade ones). Take a small jar of grape jelly - the 8ounce size and put it all in a frying pan over medium heat until it all turns to liquid. Add one jar of chili sauce and mix it into the grape jelly. Now just pour it over the meatballs. I usually pull out the frozen bag and put it in a crock pot then pour the liquid over the frozen meatballs and I heat it in the crock pot - it takes an hour or two. How easy is that?!!! Good luck and have fun! |

That's got to be the most interesting recipe I've read in a long time. I'm really curious. |
Mexican Artichoke Dip 1 c. light mayo (or, fat free) 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated 1 c. soft breadcrumbs 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 2 cans (14 oz. each) artichoke hearts, drained and roughly chopped 1 can (4 oz.) chopped green chilies Cooking spray Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, combine mayo, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire, hot pepper sauce and garlic powder. Gently fold in artichokes and green chilies. Spoon mixture into a casserole dish (or any oven-proof dish) coated with cooking spray. Cover and bake for 20 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips, pita wedges, melba rounds, or veggies. Makes about 4 cups. |

Ooh, that sounds yummy - well, except for the light/fat free mayo:p Can I use regular mayo? |

My Grandmother's Sweet & Sour Meatballs 1 package pre-made frozen meatballs (I usually use the turkey meatballs, I think they taste good) 1 can jellied cranberries 1 can tomato sauce (not pasta sauce but plain tomato sauce) Pour both cans in to a large pot and heat until the two melt, mix the sauce until they're combined. (You'll see a purpley color as opposed to two separate colors.) Add in meatballs (can still be frozen) and cook in sauce until heated all the way through. (Be careful, when the sauce heats and bubbles it tends to burp all over the place, but it's easy to clean up afterwards!) These are great hot and just as good cold! :D |

I love Superbowl parties. My brother, cousins and I always had one every year. Mud 1 can of Chili no beans Velveeta (Larger package) 1 can of Salsa (Chi- Chi's, Pace, w/e) **Option** Jalapeños, sour cream, or a 1lb of beef Be creative!! Mix all the ingredients in a crock pot and it's ON!! ( Ok, it's more complex than that) Set to "Low" Remember to stir often; serve once cheese is melted. Go Steelers!!! |

I ate SO much of this in TX at Christmas ( puppy chow they call it ) I came home before I started dieting and went a midnight and bought the stuff and came home to make it. I didn't know about the peanut butter recall's. Anyway, I didn't use vanilla or butter and remaved the check from the bag with my hand to help keep the powder sugar from being SO thick. Man, I am sick of healthey chioce...and you post this...lol. Well, next Chritmas or Maybe Easter I will eat a little. Enjoy yours! Angie |
I usually have a superbowl party each year, and have since I was like 12! We're skipping out this year, waiting for the stork to arrive ;) I always used to make Jello Jigglers in the colors of the team we were rooting for-you can add vodka too to make Jello Jigglers shots for the adults. Brownies-but cut out the shape of a football/laces in printer paper and put on top, then dust with powdered sugar and take off the paper, and voila you have stencils. You can also frost them to look like a football field with yardlines. Chex Mix White Chicken Chili-with tortilla chips, jack cheese, chives and jalapenos Or how about an easy dip-take a brick of cream cheese, pour over a jar of jalapeno jelly, and serve with crackers...looks like so much more but it's so easy! |

We're having Wylie's Mom's Artichoke dip because it sounds delicious, bean dip and Buffalo chicken soup. The bean dip is just Cream cheese, refried beans, and shredded mexican cheese layered and baked until warmed through. I also sprinkle some taco seasoning on the cream cheese layer. Buffalo Chicken Soup 2 cups cubed and cooked chicken ½ yellow onion, chopped 3 stalks celery, chopped ¼ cup unsalted butter ¼ cup flour 2 cups fat free or 1% milk (No fat content higher than 2% or it will curdle) ¾ cup chicken broth 4 oz Velveeta ½ cup Frank’s ½ tsp garlic powder Use a 4-6 Ounce crock-pot. Make a roux using flour and butter. Set aside. Chop the onion and celery into crock-pot. Add the chicken, broth, and milk. Add Velveeta and garlic powder. Stir in the roux. Add hot sauce. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. I got the recipe from crockpot365.blogspot.com |

It's a super simple recipe. 1 large onion (I prefer Vadellia sp?) 1 Cup Mayo 1 Package of Kraft Italian Crumble Cheese 1 Tsp pepper Mix together and pour in a baking dish. Bake 375 for about 45 minutes or until golden brown on top. Serve with cracker. |

Right now your local grocery store should be carrying the free Jello jiggler molds of football helmets and footballs. You get it free when you purchase Jello. I bought 2 sets of 2 yesterday. On those is a little booklet on how to create the colors so you can have team colors for your jigglers. I bought these, not for superbowl, but for next football seasons end of the season parties for my boys that are in football. :) They don't have a recipe for white, but that is really easy to make, or you could use the champagne jello even though its not really white. Also you could try Spinach Artichoke dip, which is a big hit here: 1 bag frozen spinach thawed, drained 1 or 2 (I use 2) cans of artichoke hearts in brine minced garlic (however much you prefer) 1 8oz block of cream cheese 1 8oz package swiss cheese 1 6oz package parmasan cheese 1 stick butter (no substitutes) enough milk to thin dip to desired consistancy salt and pepper to taste Or you can do veggie pizza 2 cans of crescent rolls, rolled out onto large baking sheet, like pizza crust 1 of each red, yellow, and green bell pepper raw broccoli and cauliflower florettes 2 8oz blocks of cream cheese 2 pkgs or 1 large pkg of ranch powder mix (located by salad dressings) Bake crust in the oven until golden. Mix the ranch powder in with the cream cheese and spread on cooled crust. Chop up all veggies and sprinkle on the "pizza". Simple and delish. |
Chili Cheese Roll-Ups Here's one of our family favorites: 2 packages cream cheese (regular, low fat, no fat) 2 cans chopped olives - drained 2 cans chopped chili peppers - drained 1 small bunch green onions finely chopped - use both tops and bottoms Jalapeno peppers finely chopped or habanero sauce to taste 1 package large flour tortillas (square them up a bit :) ) Your favorite salsa Soften cream cheese and thoroughly mix first five ingredients. Spread on the the flour tortillas. Roll them up as tightly as you can without the cream cheese mixture squishing out. Refrigerate for a couple of hours so that the cream cheese can firm up and make slicing easier. Slice in 1/2" to 3/4" inch pinwheels. Serve with your favorite salsa. These little flavor powerhouses are sure to please! |
