Can't stop crying I had to put my Shellsea to rest last night. She was 15 yrs old and wasn't doing good. I cried all night and all day today. I just found out that I could've been with her while they put her to rest. I wasn't given that option I've never had to do this before so I didn't know what to expect. So now I feel even worse knowing I could have held her until she fell asleep:( I'm so upset and can't stop crying. All the vet told me was I'll give you sometime with her. We kissed and hugged her then said goodbye the vet came back and took her away. I broke down while they were taking her and then we left. Why wasn't I told I could stay with her:(:(:( |
I am so very sorry for your loss. I had to put my "son" to rest this past year. My vet had experienced me with my babies and had no problem with me being with him when he passed. My prayers are with you, you will always be touched by the joy your baby gave you. |
I'm so sorry for your loss. |
So sorry you are going through this. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. |
I am so sorry.:( Please don't torture yourself with what ifs. After 15 years, she passed knowing she was an extremely well loved girl. |
I am so sorry. That is a fear that I have. My precious Sasha, my peek-a-poo, is 14 years old and I can tell she's not in the best of shape any more. My prayer is that when it comes her time that she will go in her sleep. Bless your heart. I can only imagine how you must feel, for I too, would want to be with Sasha if I ever have to make that decision. God bless you and I pray He gives you peace as only He can. |
Thanks everyone. I just can't stop thinking I should've stayed with her. I was so upset at the time that I couldn't even think straight and like I said I've never had to go through this before. |
I am so sorry for your loss. I have stayed with my ones that have passed, but my sister and many other people find it hard to do and woudl rather that not be their last memory. So while the vet should have given you the option, know your baby knew how much she was loved. |
Honestly, Sometimes vets dont want you to go in, because SOMETIMES it isnt as quick and snappy as it is said to be. Sorry for your loss. |

I am so sorry for your loss. I know it is hard to think straight when you are off to the vet for that final visit :( -- Your vet may not be as open to owners staying, or he knows how painful it is for so many people. He gave you time to say good-bye - hold onto that time. Please don\'t dwell on not being there in her last moment - rather hold onto all the wonderful moments you have shared with her in the last 15 years. I can tell you loved her very much, and I am sure she knew how much love you had for her. |
So sorry for your loss. :( Try not to torment yourself about not being there when they did it. It isn\'t your fault the vet didn\'t give you the option. What matters is all the time you spent loving her for those 15 years you had together. |
I\'m so sorry that your vet let you down by not telling you that you could stay!! Don\'t beat yourself up about not being [resent, It was your Vet whose responsible for asking that ??! Your little girl knew that you were there and how much you love her for the past 15 years!! I know how much it hurts to lose our little ones!! Keep the memories close in your heart in the days to come they will help to heal your heart!! I was a Vet Tech and that was a #1 priority to ask the family if they would like to be present!! She is now in a place without pain and will see you again someday!! Please know that you\'re in my Thoughts and Prayers, Blessings to you and your family, :hands::love-hug3:rip::angelyork:lovewings |
