I've been trying to find alternatives to help with our high bills, the phone/internet/fax, is one of them, I saw on tv a commercial for a company that offers the phone service by connecting on the computer, but I just can't remember the name of it, Vonage, is the one that comes to mind, but that's not it.Does anyone know? Also, have you tried it, what's your experience of it, would you recommended it?

optimum does al three with special rates... i dont know how good it is, because i have it separate

We actually got rid of our home phone, as all we get on there is sales calls. We just use our cell phones. I like it!!
I can't think of the one you are trying to think of either, Vonage is all that is coming to my mind, but I know there is another one...is it Jack something??

I have Vonage now, but was seriously considering switching to Magic Jack.

We just use our cell phones. It works out well.

Just because they do their commercial with 2 Yorkies, is reason enough for me to get it LOL, I didn't get to read all their info. but can you send/receive faxes, and how do you like their service

I also saw on GMA something for the cable tv. I believe it was called a ROKA??? It was pretty interesting. I will be checking into this also. Good luck on the phone, I agree the cell is the way to go for now.

We've had the same #'s (cells-home-fax) for years, and I'm afraid to loose contacts by changing or dropping a number.

I Googled Roka, but could not find it.

IDK for certain, as I've not tried, but I believe you can keep your same phone#.

We have the Majic Jack and it works fine. My BF set it up. I think all you have to pay is a one time fee and then you pay like once a year. You dont have to pay for long distance so its nice.

If you have to plug it into your computer I am assuming it works through the internet. How do you get the internet? Do you have cable??

Yes we have internet through Time Warner Cable.
