No sew blankets -exciting

We'll my squares really aren't square....LOL.. I cant cut straight to save my life then. And I was thinking the same thing. I live in an apartment and we don't even have a table. I need a super large table now...hehe..
I have a great idea for the square pieces that are left. I might make toys for my baby with them. You can just put a squeaker on the inside and sew it up. When I bought my napsack from Chattiesmom she did that and my boy loved it. And of course it matches your blanket.

It really doesn't matter about keeping the fringes straight, you should have seen mine, I think I did the 5 inch ones and some of mine were over 5 inches LOL. Everything I've made still turned out great though. I didn't know you could do the shoelace ties?? I always have done the balloon knots & I'm thinkin' maybe that's why my fingers were cramping so bad. I know you can't pull the knots too tight or it'll leave gaps in between each fringe.

I always make Lilly toys from leftover fabric I have from my many projects.

You could always buy a card table though! That way you always have the option of putting it away whenever you don't need to use it!

How funny that I stumbled upon this thread....I am in the middle of making the kiddos a new blanket for Valentine's Day Got 2 sides finished, just have to finish the other 2 sides I make gobs and gobs of these blankets....so many that I don't even know what to do with them anymore It's quite pathetic - I have a blanket addiction But I think my kiddos do too, they love them!

P.S. - I too make them toys with the leftover fleece...they just got 4 new toys tonight as a matter of fact LOL They were playing tug of war with them, so cute! They LOVE those things!!

Good, I am glad you are a professional. How did I do on mine...LOL. I think there might be some gaps between my fringes..hehe

Brooke, you sound like Lilly and I haha!!! It's truly ridiculous the amount of blankets we have around this house. Half are handmade, half are store bought. I don't even know WHY I think we need this many blankets but oh well, at least I know we'll most likely never be cold. Lilly just loves to snuggle and lounge around on blankets though quite a bit so they are put to use.

Don't worry about making your fringes perfectly straight. That's the beauty of this project... it still looks good if it's not straight!

lol... I took a fleece throw that I had and made Lucky a bed and blanket. He loves them. They are very easy to make. I am going to get some more fleece at the fabric outlet and make some more. I just used one of my old pillows for the bed.

Lol... that's one of the cutest pictures and he looks so cozy and warm. I have several fleece throws that I only paid 5.00 for and I thought about doing that too. You did a great job.

Girl.. you're a go getter for sure and I think you did a good job. As for the corners, I'm going to cut a 5" square out of cardboard (shoe box lid) to use for a template like the u-tube video. I also laid mine out on the bed to even it up but I'll probably move it to my dining table to finish it. I once had one of those fold-up cardboard cutting boards but when I quit sewing I threw it away.

Btw... not sure if they still do it but some of the fabric stores will give you a yard stick if you buy fabric but you have to ask.
