Wow who knew? I was #11,221! :) We got Emma at the end of May, and I joined in mid-June 2006. I love all of the information, pictures, and fun I find here on YT-and most of all, the good friends I've made. Happy 5th Birthday, YT!!!

I too want to say thank you to Yorkie Talk,and Happy 5th Birthday.I joined in 2006 and i truly love YT.I have not posted very much yet but learned a whole lot by just reading.But i will start posting more this new year,i really like to get to know more of the sweet people here on YT

That is a great idea! I think it would be fun to see a thread from 2004. (The earliest posts I have been able to read were from 2005.) Thanks for sharing you knowledge. :)

I joined in October 2006 and I'm member 13,747!!!
I just did a search and found YT about a month after we got Wrigley!
I have learned so much valuable information, met alot of nice and interesting people and attended some really fun events!
It's nice to have a forum where people share the same love and passion that you do and it's ok to be the "crazy dog person" because you are not alone! :confuse2:

Wow I was #2527 not totally an oldie but I consider myself part of the oldie members group. I joined YT 5/11/2005, 1 day after I received my precious Coco girl. I had a ton of questions and anxiety and excitment and love. I didn't know who to ask or express my thoughts to because everyone else in my life thought I was crazy but not my YT friends..lol HAPPY BIRTHDAY YT!

YorkieTalk was founded because we felt there was a need in the Yorkie community for Yorkie parents to come together to learn and share information about Yorkies. The original YorkieTalk founders were first-time Yorkie parents and really didn't know what to do, expect, or even how to train their Yorkie. We've always believed in being a free and open community as we can help the most Yorkies and Yorkie parents that way. We do offer some perks for our Donating Members, but asking questions, posting pictures, and just participating is absolutely free for everyone as long as they adhere to the YorkieTalk Rules & Guidelines.

The YorkieTalk Team will do everything in our power to make sure YorkieTalk stays around and functional for all of our members and for all Yorkshire Terrier parents and for those that are new to the Yorkie breed. Our goal here has always been to educate, learn, and share our Yorkie experiences with one another and to provide a positive, fun, friendly, and helpful community.

If there are any problems with the site or YorkieTalk (be it financial or technical), we will try to let all of our members know. We do not anticipate any problems, but please do remember that YorkieTalk is completely supported by member donations and with a few ads. With our continuous growth, the costs do continue to rise as well, as server costs, hosting fees, database backups, bandwidth considerations, software fees, and server administration costs go up with our growth. We will continue to remain a free community and an open community.

YT has become such a big part of my life now..I HAVE to visit everyday and if I don't I really feel like i've missed out! This place got me through the death of my beloved 14 year old yorkie and then shared my joy in getting my little darling Pixie..I will always be eternally grateful to YT for the endless support and and the special new friendships I have made here...this reminds me...I need to donate again very soon!;) xxx

Thanks for the info Admin! I was wondering how YT started and it somehow puts me at ease to know that those who started YT were newbs to yorkies too!! (well, way back when anyway:rolleyes: ) Congrats YT for what I can only imagine was 5 Fabolous years!!

Are you talking about the google search at the bottom of each page of YorkieTalk? The one where you can choose YorkieTalk or the web? If so, I am going to try this. Yea! Learning more things.

I did go to the last page of the general forum yesterday and read some threads from 2004. It was really interesting to see some of the beginning conversations. :)

Thank you, Administration, for sharing your reasons for beginning YorkieTalk. It is comforting to know, that you were also Yorkie Owner Newbies in the beginning of this great site.

I very much appreciate this wonderful community and all the work that goes into maintaining such a great place. We have made plenty of friends here, in the short time we have been members, and have also learned a ton of new information. We plan on contributing annually, to help with continuous costs. Thanks again for your hard work. :thumbup:
