When You All Taking Your Christmas Tree Down? I want to take it down already... I'm a killjoy! My front room looks like a bomb has it because Amelia's toys are all over the place because the tree is taking up the space where they are normally kept. I'm thinking I might take it down on the 2nd... when's everyone else doing it? |
Don't feel like a killjoy- I always take ne down the 26th. After Christmas it's just a symbol of a big chore looming and I want it over.:p Plus my birthday is the 29th so even as a chld my mom took it down early so I didn't feel like my birthday was being shared with Christmas. I LOVE havig my house back to normal.:) |
i am taking a break from taking mine down right now (such a time consuming task!). i love my tree but it takes up so much of my family room that i like to take it down very soon after christmas. |
I love having the tree up, but it will be coming down either the 1st or 2nd. The holidays fly by so fast anymore. |

happy belated birthday!:bigbdaypa |
I will be taking mine down this weekend. I love putting it up but after Christmas it is just clutter. |
LOL. I never put one up this year so I don't have one to take down. My b-day is on the 28th and I never had a birthday party or anything special growing up... it was always... "this is for Christmas AND your b-day." :(:( Anyone feel sorry for me yet? Now I do have a few wonderful people who make my day more special. :D |
I'm not gonna lie. When I was growing up we put ours up and kept it up till Easter. (The years when we had one.) My mom always got it for Half price from the tree place. I will probably keep ours up until February at least, especially since its fake. It was like our family tradition. But I think that taking it down on the 2nd is a fine option. :) |
I love Christmas Eve best of all ----I just love the anticipation of it all. I then enjoy a lovely Christmas lunch and a slice of christmas cake for tea. On Boxing Day I have cold ham with "bubble and squeak" made from the left over sprouts and boiled potatoes and more cake for tea. The following day 27th December Christmas is completely over and down come the decorations and tree. I have enjoyed it to its fullness . Mary |
I always take mine down a day or two before New Year's Day. In my tradition we do all our cleaning, bill paying, etc. 'before' the New Year because the ancestors say that what you do the first couple days of the New Year is what you will end up doing the rest of the year:rolleyes: |
