| When we were building our new house, I kept seeing commercials for The Dump (in Houston, TX). We couldn't resist going to look. We needed almost ALL new furniture for this house. We hoped their prices and selection were good. And we DID hit the jackpot. We got an awesome huge dining room table, our bed, armoire for our bedroom and chairs for the dining room and breakfast room (to go with an antique table we had just found). I thought they had really good prices and tons to choose from. I've heard though that the trick is to go on Friday. I think they are only open Friday through Sunday and the rest of the week is when they stock the store. You want to go on the first day. The way the store works is that they get all their furniture from show rooms and overstocks and are able to sell it at a lower price. It's definitely worth taking a look if your store is what we experienced in Houston! Here's their site..... The Dump

| I just had to go google "The Dump" to see what I could find! Personally, I don't think I would buy anything nice from a place that calls themselves the DUMP However, we have a discount furniture store here in Manhattan called the Furniture Warehouse. We bought all new living room furniture almost a year ago and are extremely happy with the quality. We looked at several furniture stores and finally bought from the Warehouse because we could get the same pieces at a much cheaper cost. Do you have one of these "Dumps" near you? I would go in and check it out!

I know... they could have chosen a better name! But in this case, I think by "Dump", they mean that this is where all the "other people's stuff" gets taken to, or "dumped". They get a lot of furniture from showrooms and show homes after it's been shown. And then also from overstocks. At least that's how the salesguy explained it to us. I've been to a Furniture Warehouse in our area and it's obviously not as nice as the ones you have. I guess it all depends on your area. Just like one "Dump" may be dumpier than another one, right? I say it's worth a look-see! You never know what you'll find. Good luck!

| You're welcome. And be sure to go early on Friday. Most people know that you get the best selection on Friday morning so there may be a crowd.

| I think "the dump" is a pretty funny name. haha. Kinda like that rental car company "rent-a-wreck" they rent out cars that run just fine, but have dents or scratches. Aren't perfect looking. Good luck, with your new furniture its always a fun/stressful situation |
