Owners of pet's, giving them up all over It's been on the news and in the paper that pet's are being turned in because their owner's can't afford to keep them any longer. The pounds in the area are filled and over flowing because of this sudden burden. How the hell do you give up a loving pet because your have to cut back? You eating something, share it with them. In hard times food is food IMO. I feel sick to my stomach thinking pet's are being discarded because of hard times. I can't imagine doing such a thing. It would be like giving up a child because I can't feed it. There has to be a better way for these people. Please donate, even a little to help out your local pounds. They really need our help at this time. I don't want to think of the consequenses of what will happen if they can't find a way to care for these abondoned animals. |
I would rather give up my right arm than my doggies! A dog is a life commitment no matter what the economy is like. Its not like we are giving back kids! |
i see alot of people selling there pets for christmas money. |

at least the pound will try their best to place them. This is America, how can this be happening? |
This is so sad!!:( |
Save the pet, eat ramen noodles!!! |
this makes me sick to my stomach!!!! people are just real morons.!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:: i dont understand how anyone that breathes can do this to an animal. |
If you have read some of my posts and about me, you know that I support the rescue groups. Let's hope, and pray, that some of the pet's are being turned over to, surrendered to, or how ever you want to say it, to local rescue groups. These people will usually find a way to save and foster pets that are being given up. |
I don't get it. :( |
Here's a video of a family who just left the pets in their foreclosed home! I can't believe the neighbor who says "he had no choice". Of course he had a choice! He could have taken them to a rescue -- instead he just left them to starve. Warning: Very SAD! cbs13.com - Video Library Scroll to the "abused pets" video. |
I keep reading about the same situation here too - the RSPCA shelter near to me is full to bursting. Me and my mum donated some dog and cat food and blankets after there was an appeal in the local paper. You can pick up a tin of dog food for 30p in the supermarket, I know its not quality food but I'd rather feed that to my dog than give her up! Would these people give up their kids in hard times? something tells me they wouldn't xxx |
I know our local news was talking about this last year....when things were getting tight and gas was so high...I still don't understand it...I mean, I know sometimes we go thru hard times, but we don't give up our children either...and too me, my "pets" ARE my children. If things are really that tight...the families could (if possible) cut back on other expenses, eating out, buying junk food, etc, etc. If things are sooo bad that a family is about to lose their homes, etc...why not see if a family member or friend (someone that the dogs may atleast know) could take the pets in for awhile or adopt them, etc. How can you just leave and walk away from a companion that is so loyal to you and that their eyes are just so full of love for you and the family...how can you look into those eyes and just turn around and leave them stranded in your home or on the streets or in a cold cage at the shelter?? It is just beyond me.....my heart just aches for these babies!!!:cry8: |
I would buy the cheapest dog food and cut back on every thing I could and make sure my dogs were kept in their home. |
my dog would eat before i did.. i do it now... lexi comes first all around, just like children do... ...i take care of her first , me second till the day i die. |
