She was found to not have lice, but a stage one psoriasis. Acording to the school rules in onslow county, a second opinion will not be acepted. In other words, My child is destined to suffer from a social handicap, and her mother has for 40 years. | Well, Well, Well... finally my expertise is needed here on YT... I am a school nurse and have been for 17 years. Head lice is my daily job.. LOL When I read your response about your daughter having flakes, I thought to myself, "its not head lice"!!!! Just as everyone has said, Eggs (nits) stick to the hair until properly treated. Until they are dead, you can't remove them and even afterwards when they have been treated, you still have to pull out with your finger nails. It is a long and very stressful time. If you use a home remedy, which I would suggest, you have to make sure you check her head everyday to make sure one viable nit (egg) didn't survive. They have a way of surviving because they are protected within the shell. (just like a egg) You have to be very cautious that they don't hatch and that is why getting out every nit is the MOST IMPORTANT thing to do. Like everyone else suggested, put all stuffed animals and things you can't wash in bags, and wash and dry all bed clothes and sheets and even put the pillows in the dryer. With all this said, I knew from everything you were saying, it wasn't headlice. A good school nurse would know that...Does your school have a nurse? If so why is the teacher checking your childs head? Was she itching? Even with her skin condition, she could be itching because of her scalp being so dry.. I hope I've helped a little and if you have any questions, please pm me. I wish I was there to look at her head for you..... Have a very nice weekend and Merry Christmas.... |
