Nuts in a little sack.....
 
to clean your laundry?! :confused:... You get enough to do 200 loads.....No more detergent or softener needed...It's supposed to be "natural", no chemicals....I'm having a hard time believing these nuts can remove dirt, by the looks of them they would create dirt....

By the end of the cycle it looks like I would have dirty clothes and clean nuts.....Bouncing nuts in the washer, what ill they think of next?.....Maybe it's the same concept of beating your clothes against a rock?......hhmmmm.......Has anyone attempted to used this?......

Soap nuts----- I have been using them for about 4 months now and can tell you they absolutely work.

I even have two friends who have been converted as well.

Very interesting...have never heard of soap nuts before....would also like to know of anyone who has used them and how well they work???

Your kidding?!....I can't for the life of me see how they clean, especially whites!....It might be three now!..... you have me tempted to buy them!

I am so not kidding, they really work. Your clothes get so fresh and soft.

If I have anything that is set in or really tough, I use a couple tbls of oxy clean with the load I'm washing.

I even use them on my aging lab's washable diapers I made for him. As well as my son works on cars and gets his clothes clean.

Okay, so I read the testimonials. I normally only use cold water. Do they work as well in cold, like they claim? How many nuts do you use in a full load of clothes when you use cold water?

This sounds a little weird but interesting. I'll be watching to see if anyone else has a testimonial. I've shared the link with my best friend who is on a quest to get her household eco-friendly. She can afford to try anything so my bet is she won't be able to resist these.

I also use cold water. I put the sack in a jar of warm water while I fill the washer and throw the sack in on top.

I put 4-5 nuts in the sack and that lasts 6 loads. I do large loads too. I have found them on EBAY at more cost effective prices.

How do you know when they aren't cleaning anymore?.......Do the nuts get smaller as you use them?......You say clothes are really left soft?.....What does it smell like?......I'm interested now.....:)

From what I've read, you can tell you should stop using them when they don't "feel sudsy anymore". What exactly does that mean?

And where do you buy yours the cheapest?

Edited to say.... I saw that you mentioned you buy them on Ebay but what is considered a "good price" and is there a certain seller you found that's cheapest?

While googling for more info on these nut sacks I came across this site where you can buy a sample bag for $2.99 plus $1.50 shipping. Might be worth it to try them out. There may be other places to buy samples - this was just the first one I saw.

Yikes! Soap Nuts turn black and sticky as they absorb moisture from the air. If your soap nuts are exposed to long-term moisture, like humid air, they may change color. This doesn't affect Soap Nuts' cleaning power. In fact, some people think the sticky nuts clean better because they are pre-releasing their saponin. We like our nuts to release when WE are ready, so we pack them with a desiccant.

thanks for sharing the link. I am going to try a sample first. I am going to order some for My Mother in law also. I havent told my Husband yet because he will probably think I am off my rocker for trying them lol
