I put 4-5 nuts in the sack and that lasts 6 loads. I do large loads too. I have found them on EBAY at more cost effective prices.

Ok Angel, it looks like your our nut sack authority.......

How do you know when they aren't cleaning anymore?.......Do the nuts get smaller as you use them?......You say clothes are really left soft?.....What does it smell like?......I'm interested now.....:)

From what I've read, you can tell you should stop using them when they don't "feel sudsy anymore". What exactly does that mean?

And where do you buy yours the cheapest?

Edited to say.... I saw that you mentioned you buy them on Ebay but what is considered a "good price" and is there a certain seller you found that's cheapest?

Okay, you almost have me convinced to try these, mainly out of curiosity...and maybe so I can say that I'm washing my clothes with a nut sack! :lol tears

While googling for more info on these nut sacks I came across this site where you can buy a sample bag for $2.99 plus $1.50 shipping. Might be worth it to try them out. There may be other places to buy samples - this was just the first one I saw.

Yikes! Soap Nuts turn black and sticky as they absorb moisture from the air. If your soap nuts are exposed to long-term moisture, like humid air, they may change color. This doesn't affect Soap Nuts' cleaning power. In fact, some people think the sticky nuts clean better because they are pre-releasing their saponin. We like our nuts to release when WE are ready, so we pack them with a desiccant.

I thought for sure this was going to be one of those fruit loop posts wherein the OP got their little fella neutered and keep his ___ in a sack for a souvenir or something. :eek: :p :D

thanks for sharing the link. I am going to try a sample first. I am going to order some for My Mother in law also. I havent told my Husband yet because he will probably think I am off my rocker for trying them lol
