Poor Cindy Sheehan I feel for Cindy Sheehan's pain at losing her son, but to dishonor him by what she is doing is absurd at best, and unpatriotic bordering on treasonous at worst. She is being used by the far left and the liberal media as a pawn against our president. Do liberals really think President Bush WANTS war and death? That is insane! Freedom comes at a price-- a high price, and thanks to our president, Al Qaeda has been diminished by 75%. Our former president was warned about Osama Bin Laden, but chose to do nothing and the burden now lies on Pres. Bush. What you don't hear about are the schools, hospitals, and economic projects that our servicepeople are achieving in Iraq and Afghanistan. How can liberal women disagree with a war that set millions of women free and allowed them to vote? As for WMD, Saddam had lots of time to get them out of Iraq and into Syria before we got there. Interestingly, the majority of the Sheehan's disagree with Cindy and honor her son's memory by supporting what he died for--freedom, and the war on terror. If you don't think Saddam was a terrorist, check out the terror he did when he murdered so many of his own citizens. What does Ms. Sheehan hope to accomplish with another meeting with the president? Does she really think he will just say "Oh, okay Cindy, you're right. Let's just undo everything we've accomplished in Iraq and let another fanatical dictator take over." It is ludicrous to think that she could possibly change his mind on this issue. We've got to stay the course in Iraq until it can stand on its own feet as a democracy or a republic. I support President Bush in his effort to succeed in Iraq and Afghanistan! I don't agree with every one of his policies, but I do like and admire him very much! Cindy needs to go home and find a constructive way to honor her son. |

President Bush is a moron. That's that. I wish I could say more and not get banned. And I think that it's ridiculous for you to criticize Kim for starting things when this thread was just meant to start controversy. |
Kinda of harsh aren't ya? Elizabeth is completely right. Seems YOU have been misguided. |
I can go on and on about politics but, I'd rather warn you about what you say. Be careful, please! |
I agree with some people on here. I have many relatives over in iraq and it is very hard to go through each day not knowing whether they are going to be one that does not make it through. |

Now onto my 2 cents. Aren;t WE doing in Iraq exactly what Bush and his cronies were trying to scare the American people into thinking they were going to do to US? This war is not about freedom, it is about a group of people associated with the Bush family making money. Bush and his family are in the Bin Laden's pockets, they have him under their thumbs. Up until recently, they made money off of the weapons that were being made to fight this war. On a base level, go watch Farenheit 9/11 and see what the soldiers have to say. One says that he'd personally like to ask Rumsfeld for his resignation and then there is Corporal Abdul Henderson (MY FREAKIN' HERO) who plainly states that he would not go back to needlessly kill people even if there was threat of jailtime for him. Bush is a war president and one that is costing the American people our financial future. |

I hate when people say "it is that liberal media doing things" so many people just dont know what goes on. they think they do but the media would never report the WHOLE truth. You are 100% right watch micheal moores film. |
Very well put go watch the movie. |
Oh and one more thing. If Bush is so gung ho about the war and so set in his convictions, thinking it's such a good thing for them and us, why the hell isn't he sending his own children over to fight the good fight? |

I was not saying that controversy is bad. I was saying that it is hypocritical to be critical of someone posting something that CAN become controversial, and then turning around and posting something that actually IS controversial. The thread should have been closed from the beginning. I am entitled to state my opinion just as much as Elizabeth is, and that shouldn't cause the thread to be closed. |
What is the deal with threads being closed all the time? If you don't like the content, then stay away. We are all adults here, aren't we!!!!!!! And, I think it is perfectly ok to call the president a moron. It's the truth. There was no attacking another member going on. |
I have a client of mine who's son came back from Irag last winter. And although, he may not agree with the reasoning behind the war, there has been so many good things done over there that we really do not hear about. They had set up many hospitals, Medicine is a huge one, they are getting soo many sick children the help they so deserve, started 100's of new schools, have boys AND GIRLS getting educations, setting up the elections and voting, helping soo many people! He had so many Iragi people just come up to him while traveling, telling him and his troops, Thank YOU"! So we all have our own views on this war, we should agree to disagree. Some agree with the war, while others don't. But our MEN and WOMEN ARE over there. Our friends, our husbands, wives, sons, daughters, bothers, sisters, moms and dads. I hope we can all agree that we truly hope that they are safe, and will always keep them in our thoughts every single day. They are doing their job, and with pride. I am very proud of each and every one of our troops, for they had the courage to sign up for our Armed FOrces, and to defend OUR Country. I did not have the courage that each and every one of our men and women had to even sign up. But they are fighting for our country, whether they want to be thier or not! They are the bravest, most heroic, men and women I wish I could ever meet. For those who have unfortunatly have past on from this life here on earth, while defending our freedom, I will tip my hat off to them, for they have done what I could never do. I wish the war had never happened, but it has, and they are making me so very proud of each and every one of them. Defending our country with pride, dignity, and honour. That is why they joined our Armed Forces. So lets please agree to disagree on this one- and think of the men and women over there- to keep them safe and to bring them home, soon! They are HEROS in my book!!!! |
If this isn't an attack its darn close. I posted on a thread last night that wasn't this bad and it got deleted outright. So now we can say anything we want about anyone as long as they don't belong to this forum??? |

2 things: There is another thread here where member (incuding myself) are bashing outright people on a tv show. It's fine, ok. The other is this: Even though I do not support war or Bush, I want everyone on this forum with a friend, family member or loved one over in Iraq to know that i do respect them for going and care deeply about their saftey. Someone I know on this forum has her son over there and I think about her constantly. I just want people to know that I am not flip about the soldiers who's lives are endangered daily. We want them all home and SAFE. |
:yeahthat: Well said Miezzi |

I feel for Cindy Sheehan's pain at losing her son, but to dishonor him by what she is doing is absurd at best, and unpatriotic bordering on treasonous at worst Treason: Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies. She is being used by the far left and the liberal media as a pawn against our president. Do liberals really think President Bush WANTS war and death? Yes, we do. That is insane! Freedom comes at a price-- a high price, who's freedom? and thanks to our president, Al Qaeda has been diminished by 75%. according to whom? Our former president was warned about Osama Bin Laden, but chose to do nothing and the burden now lies on Pres. Bush. Bush doesn't read the freaking security reports presented to him. Did you hear about the one entitled "Al Quada to use planes to attack NYC". Yeah, he didn't read it. What you don't hear about are the schools, hospitals, and economic projects that our servicepeople are achieving in Iraq and Afghanistan. How can liberal women disagree with a war that set millions of women free and allowed them to vote? He's spreading Christianity, not democracy. Not every country needs to be crazy Christian like the president. Just accept that Bush lied about WMD. He practically admitted it. Interestingly, the majority of the Sheehan's disagree with Cindy and honor her son's memory by supporting what he died for--freedom, again, for whom? and the war on terror. If you don't think Saddam was a terrorist, check out the terror he did when he murdered so many of his own citizens. Is that Bush's business? No. Now, instead, we are murdering his citizens. And they are murdering us. Wow, we're solving lots of problems! What does Ms. Sheehan hope to accomplish with another meeting with the president? Does she really think he will just say "Oh, okay Cindy, you're right. No. She's exercising her right to assemble peacefully. She thinks the president is full of sh*t, too. Let's just undo everything we've accomplished in Iraq and let another fanatical dictator take over." "fantatical dictator" -- sounds like the religious pres we have now. Christian fanatic to be specific. It is ludicrous to think that she could possibly change his mind on this issue. We've got to stay the course in Iraq until it can stand on its own feet as a democracy or a republic. Why? its not our business. Why are we killing people so they can have a democracy? I support President Bush in his effort to succeed in Iraq and Afghanistan! I don't agree with every one of his policies, but I do like and admire him very much! I don't. I think he's a schmuck. Cindy needs to go home and find a constructive way to honor her son. She is being constructive. Its drawing attetnion to the issue -- we're even talking about it for christ's sake! |

He's actually a very intelligent and well informed man who holds strongly to his convictions. |
i personally havent even heard about this woman.... but anyone that has lost someone that is special to them searches for a reason for their loss, and in war there are no reasons... there is only blood, and death, and the person who declared the war. There have been so many controversies about this subject allready. Faranheit 9/11 is an extremest point of view (does it have convinving evidence? yeah it does..... but a good OBJECTIVE documentary looks at all sides........ his documentary was NOT objective)........ I will support the my friends over there that are getting shot at, but i WILL NOT support the reason that they are over there. The government needs to look more towards national security then it does bombing the hell out of a country. And do you honestly think that the government doesnt know where osama bin laden is???? He is on dialysus!!!! (sp?) and there are only TWO machines in the whole COUNTRY to service his needs....... anyways, deviating from the point, do i like bush? no, i think he is a lousy president, but national security should be priority no one. Terrorists were sneaking over the border from mexico throughout his "war on terror", and the "unnoficial" government attitude in california has been to let illegal immigrants go leniant ("who else would work the fields?" they think) This thread was started with controversial statements, but we are all adults... i ahve my opinions , and everyone else has theirs.... i like waht other people said.: agree to disagree |
i personally being in the heart of the military finds it very shallow to post a thread like this! elizabeth you have repeatedly stated in other posts as well as this one that your a republican and that you stand behind bush okay i heard it the first time why do you feel that you have to keep pushing it in our faces? why post something like this that you very well know that it's going to strike alot of nerves? i just don't get it! STOP ALREADY! I AM SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE NOT APPRECIATING WHAT OUR FAMILY MEMBERS DO! and i am sick and tired of people defending a president who can care less about the HEARTACHE he's causing all these people just so he can sit on his freakin high horse with his nose up in the air! my family has been affected by both president bush's in the worst way possible, my brother n law is paralized from desert storm my husband is going to iraq next year!do you have the fear in my heart or do you feel the knotts in my stomach knowing that day is gettin closer and closer? until you are in me and my families shoes or this mother's shoes i don't feel anyone has a right to jude anything! if it is going to make her feel even an inch better to face president bush GOOD FOR HER she has every right to! bush is the man responsible for her son's death in my opinion and now he needs to face it! HOW MANY IS TOO MANY BEFORE WE SAY ENOUGH! i am sooo done with this type of thread! so many true colors are coming out that it's freakin blinding me and i find it very sad!!! |
:bravo: :yeahthat: the ones that truly know sacrifice is the family and friends that are left behind |

I didn't want to reply to the topics of politics because I have very strong views on it which might end up offending someone. |
I have family in Iraq and in Afganistan. It hurts very very deeply every single day to know that there is a chance that my little brothers may not come home. It is a very harsh reality. Its something that I have to prepare myself for just in case because honestly, my world will crash down around me if I lose a brother. I am not into politics what so ever. This last vote was the very first time that I ever voted because I knew that Bush was for war. And I knew that if we went to war my little brothers would be in it. Im not dumb. I do not understand how some one can support president Bush and the hurt that he has put on THOUSANDS of families in this country that he supposedly loves so much. |
wow jess cruz, i couldnt have said it any better than that. i 1000000% agree with you. when my husband was in iraq i cried evryday and night and prayed everyday and night hoping for a safe return. thank god he did i went into premature labor twice while i was pregnant with my son because i was so stressed out!! i wanted my husband home and away from all those dangers in iraq. i know how it feels to have one of your loved ones taken away from you at the moment you need the the most and i hate bush for that cause yeah it is his fault that my husband had to go fight a war that doesnt make any sense. i hope your husband has a safe return from iraq. |
