I can order a beer in Spanish...and ask where the bathroom is. All you need to know. A HS teacher I had...her husband was stationed in Italy...so she wanted to send him a letter written in Italian...asked the Italian kid in class if he or his father could help. Well, only if she wanted to cuss at hubby...their Italian was limited like my french. |

I speak French and German-not fluently, but well enough to survive if stranded in either place and carry on a simple conversation. I've dabbled at Spanish and worked with some Mexican folks who were teaching me their language. German is a fun language - very gutteral and very long words:D. I would love to learn other languages, too. Yorkese would be one of them, then I'd know exactly what Roxy was saying to me when gets mad and gives me her little growlie noises:rolleyes:. |
Living in Quebec and it being a bilingual Province, French & English is almost a must if you want to be able to understand everyone, I also speak Hungary, Mom is the culprit there, plus picked up some Spanish on various trips and such, next language to be mastered is German, I work with girl from Switzerland and she speaks German, so that's what's next.. It's a lot of fun:) |
I know how to say "I love you" and "I hate you" in german lol |
I am in awe of people who speack foreign languages. I just don't get it. I speak English and am fluent in Dog and Horse. Before you laugh and make like of speaking "Dog" and "Horse" remember these are very subtle non-spoken languages made up of body movements and attitude. :D |
I speak english, and a little spanish. Which I learned from Dora:D (I have two kids) |
I speak Spanish and English, ohhh and puppy talk too that has to count :animal36 |
