Just wondering if you've solved the smell issue................ |
I've read all these replies to your thread. Have you checked on reviews for the vacuum and seen if anyone else had the same problem? I think I'd return it if you couldn't find out where the heck it's coming from... I smell EVERYTHING and I know I wouldn't be able to deal with it. |

Hi Gypsy, Henry vacuums are notorious for being smelly and it really depends on what you have used it for. The filter ring after the motor can be washed but it needs to be dry before it can be put back in. Try spraying the filter with Febreeze rather than any other air freshener spray if you don't want to wash the filter. Another tip is to wash the hose out. This can be done, but removing the hose and the metal bent pipe and laying the entire plastic hose into a bath or shower cubicle, lining the hose with washing powder and dousing it through with a shower or laying it in the bath. After a couple of hours return to the hose, take out of the bathroom and dry it using a long stick and cotton hankies pushed down the hose to ensure each rib gets dry - alternatively usually after a day or 24 hours the hose will be dry to be used again. hepa bags |
I didn't read all of the posts and maybe someone has suggested this. I have these vaccum cleaner beads from Restoration Hardware. I put a new fresh bag in the vaccum and sprinkle those beads into the bag. They smell pretty good and I've even had people comment on it that it smells good. Here's the link and if you scroll down you'll find them: Shore Cleaning Collection - Laundry & Cleaning - Utility & Cleaning I have the Grapefruit Ginger and can't believe how good they smell. |
