| BEWARE! Acai Berry Scam After a month of debating with myself I finally ordered a trial bottle of Acai Berry. I was supposed to be charged $4.95 for postage. Well low and behold today I see a charge of $79.96 for some kind of membership. Oh the whole thing is legal because I didn't read the small print that says I have 14 days to cancel a membership. I emailed a complaint and called then too but my 14 days was up (of course) yesterday and I can't get it back. I got the bottle last week and haven't opened it yet. After talking to the customer service rep - I was able to cancel the membership and she was kind enough to tell me that there were two other things I agree to join ( a magazine subscription and a coupon site) so I cancelled them too. I am worried though because I looked at compaints.com and there are so many complaints like mine it isn't funny! None of them seemed to have gotten their money back either. So BEWARE and don't order this product. It says that Oprah has used it and claims it works and it had a really neat bio of this woman that supposedly lost a bunch of weight with it. Sigh. I feel so stupid. Now I have to get a new card with a different number on it. Last edited by Lou; 03-02-2009 at 10:14 AM. Reason: typo |

| I hear more and more of this sort of thing anymore! I'm so glad you are getting a different card, because more than likely, they would start charging you monthly. That happened with my daughter...not the same product...and because of these unknown charges, she overdrew her checking account and had to pay overdraft fees. She also got a new card and number. If you decide you like the stuff and want more, check with Ebay. That's a good way of getting around those hidden charges you get when buying from the company. Sorry this happened to you! Darn crooks out there!

| Grrr, I hate stuff that does that! Usually places are really good about refunding the money though. At first they say they can't, blah blah blah, but if you keep on and are really adamant about wanting your money back, they'll do it. So sorry people are cruel!

You got that right, Connie. This is an example of one of the worst types of marketing --- sale by small print. There are variations but generally the catch is that accepting a free offer now obligates you to pay later. Be aware.

| This is so true and I assumed the trial period was to start AFTER I received the product not BEFORE! |

| I was so close of ordering this a few months ago. I had entered my name, address, and telephone # but when it got to the part of putting my credit card info I decided not to and closed the window. For the next several weeks I had the company calling me everyday to see if I was still intereted and everyday I would tell them I'm not interested anymore and to stop calling me. After about a month they finally stopped. |

| Hi Lou, could you please tell me if your bottle of Acai was purple and green and said Acai Noni? I also may have fallen victim but I my bottle doesn't say Acai Berry it says Noni. |

| Unfortunately I too was suckered into this sceme... I order the trial bottle for 4.95 s/h and then recieved 2 more bottles 1 month and a half later and was charged 80+ dollars on my credit card.... I called the number listed and told them to please stop my auto replenishment program...but have just noticed that I have been charged yet another 80+ dollars but still haven't received any more shipments at this time. I think I am going to have to cancel my credit card........ uggggggggg what a hassle..... Please everyone, please read the fine print.....so that this doesn't happen to you !!!!
