California is on fire, ashes all over my house :(
 
Im scared. We have two major fires surrounding the valley. Which is a trap effect of where I live. Please send prayers this way that the wind dies down and the fires get under control. I also worry about the animals that are being left behind because of evacuations :(

My husband is stuck behind where one of the fires is and even though he is safe, he isn't able to come home to me and my kids. They have closed the freeways and streets for the firemen to get through. The wind keeps switching and the fires are jumping across the freeways.

I am so sorry. :( Prayers with your family (and all those being affected by this). I'm sorry your husband can't be with you.

Hi. I'm here in Santa Clarita. It is so scary. Last year we were evacuated. I hope your husband makes it home soon. I used to live in Burbank and now I'm stuck out here in fireville...I hate it. I'll be thinking of your hubby and praying he gets home to all of you soon.

I just moved from Santa Clarita :( Lived right off San Fernando & the 14 FWY
It is just as bad for you where you live! I hope your family can get on the freeways up there. I know they closed down the 210 and parts of the 5. My husband is stuck in Chatsworth. The Porter Ranch fire didn't start till later and he had already left for work.

Poor hubby..nothing worse than being stuck away from home when there's such a disaster going on. I usually take the 210 to work...today I was off. I get off Via Princessa. I grew up in Burbank and like it much better than out here. You just feel so stuck when this happens cause there's only one way in and out of here. Luckily last year I was home when fires started. I'm worried sick about what will happen to the doggies if we can't get back home and this happens again. Only lived out here a few years and last year was our first fire where we were evacuated. Keep us tuned in and let us know when your husband makes it home. Chatsworth is looking scary right now. Hopefully your husband won't have to go to work tomorrow if it's still going. Nice chattin with you.

My hubby called and is trying to take streets home. I just want him to get home so badly. I keep forgetting to buy tons of water just in case of a disaster. Your right about Santa Clarita, there is only one way up and out, that scared us while we lived up there too. In fact, while we lived up there, we were evacuated 3x in 4 years due to fires.

I think I would be calling for a hellicopter right about now :eek: Get the water hose and start pouring it all over your yard and house. I pray you stay safe and that you can get out soon.

You would be surprised at all the helicopters in the sky right now. From the fire copters putting out the flames, the police ones, and of course the news choppers. I hope the fire wont make it to Burbank :hands:

Wow..must have been awful being evacuated so much. You're in a good place now though...fires are rare in burbank...just no matter where you are out here commuting is bad when something's going on. I always forget to stock up for disasters too. I think we live in denial to feel more safe, huh? Your hubby will be exhausted when he gets home tonight from all that traffic and winding through side streets. I'll keep checkin in to see he made it home to all of you.

We use to live in California, and this can be so stressful, you do learn what your values are, and what material things are really important, seems like this time of year the fires would come. I was always so worried about photos, now with the Internet, that's one less worry I would have. My prayers are with you and your family at this time.

Do you remember the fire last year in Griffith Park & Universal Studios? I live on that side of Burbank, and they had that contained so fast. I do feel safe here for the most part :)

Its so stressful Im going to move to Indiana :) I know they have Tornado's..but I will have a basement, so Im sure I will be okay in that aspect.
I just worry about my doggies and kids the most. My kids are teenagers, and its so hard to keep everyone home at the same time. I know once my husband gets back here, I will feel 100x better.

He scolded me for not having water though, but thats okay :D
I hate to be alone, I do have my doggies, but its not the same without him :)

Yes, I know just where you are. Turned out some freak set three that month, remember? And they caught him cause he tried to join a pack of bicycle riders..but he didn't have a uniform on.
Glad hubby's almost home. Now go stock up on water..and I will too!!
My daughter was impossible to keep home as a teen. Now she's 25 and it's rare if she doesn't call me every day just to check in...kids!!

Watching this on the local television stations. This is really bad, praying for all those that are in the path of this fire, they are saying it is spreading rapidly.

We have had so many fires up here in the mountains this past year.
We didn't get much sleep last night cause of the strong winds and the news is saying tonight that the winds are going to be much, much stronger. NOT GOOD.

Praying for this to quit spreading.
