Thank you. Mama emailed the "before" pic to me today and the ladies at work had forgotten exactly how large I was. They said it explained the reaction I got at the conference we went to in Charleston. I had people who'd known me 14 years (different offices) who walked past me without recognizing me.

I am embarrassed at how bad I looked:(

No way....how much did you loose??? You look fantastic, I'm sure you feel much better now. Gastric bypass is a life saving procedure.

After a double take,( I had to go back) the before picture looks like the mom of the lady on the second picture.
Happy for your accomplishment

I had it done 3/12/08 and am down 80 lbs with 24 to go. ---

I believe it has saved my life. I'm no longer diabetic and have gone from a handfull of RX drugs daily to a bp pill

LOL! I DO feel good. I'm able to do things now that I haven't done in years. I'm actually doing YARD work again. I can keep up with my skinny little sister now.

I actually have trouble shopping. I've never actually enjoyed shopping, and now I don't know where to go in stores.

I take my sister with me when I go now. She immediately sends me into a dressing room and starts throwing stuff over the top.

She's like a drill sargeant - "Put this on - Nope - don't like it - try this - Yep! that's a keeper"

You should hear her! She has more fun than I do!

Thank you - that's what it's all been about. My husband died at 49 and I was so afraid that I'd die early, too, because of the weight I've been carrying for so long. I really ballooned after his death and I knew I had to do something drastic.

My mom had this surgery about 5 years ago and she went from a little over 300 lbs to the 130 lbs she is now.

I bet you are so proud!! I'm so happy for you, you look great!!

It's amazing how differently we deal with grief...I went the other way and lost too much weight after my husband died...couldn't eat or sleep for months. My appetite is just now coming back and it sucks - I'm always hungry now.

I know what you mean. I used food for comfort and to make myself numb so I wouldn't have to feel anything. I feel like I've been in a dark place for a long time and am just coming into the sunshine.

Isn't it amazing how our minds work!

You look incredible! I'm proud of you for being strong enough to make such a big move on in your life. I'm sorry about your loss, I, too, lost my dh too young and too soon so I can sympathize with your thoughts and feelings. It looks like you are on the right track to becoming whole again. Congrats!
