California here I come!
 

I'm so excited. :D:D:D Tomorrow morning my aunt and I are leaving for California! It's just a couple days - I'll be home on Thursday evening. But I'm really excited. :) My aunt told me she was going out for business, so I saved up my money all summer and I paid for myself to go. We're going to be in the Orange County/LA area. We're going to Disneyland (eee!) and on Wednesday we're going to see 9 to 5 (Dolly Parton is bringing it to Broadway as a musical and they're having out of town try outs in LA).

I'll probably get on a couple times to check in while I'm out there. :) Prepare for pictures when I return! :D

Have fun Megan. If you can convince Gina to drive on the interstate...she's only an hour from LA. ;)

Btw, do not pack anything in your checked luggage that you ever want to see again. Sometimes things disappear....

Yayy I'm so happy for you, you will loved it in here the weather still pretty good, maybe you can ask at travel agency or the hotel were you at if they have a pckg deal so you can go the California Adventure is more for adults and you have to get on the tower of terror uaaawwww my sister loved it one of our favor rides he,he and I'm a big baby when it come to ride but this one whoo hooo, maybe you can make it to Universal Studios too, anyway have fun girl:D

Megan, you are going to love my beautiful state. Go to Downtown Disney, it is very pretty at night. Have a great trip.:)

Hey guys! We're waiting to board the plane in Pheonix. Wow, AZ'ers, your state is beautiful. I so enjoyed flying over it and seeing all the mountains.

The first flight went perfectly. Hoping the second one goes just as well, and soon I'll be in CA. :)

This time difference is insane haha. My aunt and I were both up at like 5:00 today. I was going downstairs to get something from starbucks and I was like bouncing off the walls on the elevator at 6 in the morning, and the other lady who was on it was like "You're from the East, aren't you?" haha. Yup. ;)

My aunt is at her business meeting. When she gets back we're going to Disneyland! I'm SO excited lol. I wish we could stay and watch the parade tonight, but since we have to get to the show we won't have time. :(

I'm reallyreallyreallyreally looking forward to the drive there and to the theatre. I want to see California! haha.

The sunrise was way pretty this morning. and the moutains with the purple sky in the backround? *dies* So gorgeous. I want to live here! :)

I've come to the conclusion that everything is CA is 20 minutes away! I've been looking up different cities and they're all about 20 minutes away. :p

Im from Indiana and have lived here in Cali for 20 years. There is so much to do and see that after 20 years, I've yet to do it all. Im about two blocks away from the Tonight Show. Its free if you want to see the show, just have to get in line around 3 pm ;)

I really, really need to come back here. I'm so grateful to be able to come out here AT ALL, but I'd like to come just for vacation when my aunt doesn't have to go to meetings and such.

But for now I'll take what I have. ;) But I'm def. going to look into coming back and exploring.

The one thing I would suggest is too see who is the on the guest list for when you go. I swear, you would think that I would do this. Last time my husband and I went it was guest Kermit the Frog and Dolly Parton :)

A long time ago, my husband (ex now) and I went to the Johnny Carson show. He went to park the car (it was sort of a last minute decision on our way back from some other excursion), and I went and got a number (all the people with seats were in line, but they gave everyone else numbers and they filled any empty seats with those numerically)...I never thought we'd get in, but we were two of the last 4 people they let in....we didn't get to sit together, but it was a night that Johnny Carson was actually there, plus, the guest list included Victoria Principal (this was during the Dallas heyday), the guy from the Wild Kingdom (who brought several baby white tigers with him) and Sammy Davis Jr!!! We were SO JAZZED! What fluke that we even got in, much less with a great lineup.

I don't think it matters so much who's on; it's just fun to see how they tape the show.

And I'm a native Californian and I still haven't seen all there is to see in the Golden State; it's so beautiful, there's too many places you want to to over and over!

Megan, I'm so glad you're having so much fun. I know you'll have a blast at Disneyland. Hope you can come out here again soon and see and do more! Have a safe trip home! Did they do like a strip act to get the crowd riled up before the show? Both times I went, they did that! It made me feel a little uncomfortable, but at least the second time I knew it was coming ;)

Uhhh...NO. They didn't do any strip act. I think it might have been before the days when things like that were thought acceptable entertainment...you know, the "Olden days":D? I can't imagine Johnny Carson hanging with that as a warm up.

I think your right. This was the Jay Leno era. The first time, I looked around at everyone and no one seemed shocked. I think there are better ways to get the crowd going, there were grandma's there for goodness sakes!
