Haven't been around too much lately. My sister got me reading a series of books by Stephanie Meyer. So far I have read Twilight, New Moon and as soon as I sign off will start Eclipse. There are four books and a movie is coming out soon. I, honestly, can't put them down. They are big books and it takes me about a week to finish one. I have even been sneaking in reading at work and at stoplights! I've never had any interest in this type of reading but this has me addicted!

I am normally not into that sort of thing, but ladies at the school and people in my family were telling me to read the Twilight book...so I checked it out at the library and it was REALLY good! WoW!

What is the fourth book....and is the movie going to be about the Twilight book?

OMG, I am so into this series!! I just finished 'Eclipse' and now need to wait for the library to let me know when the last one is available - I'm 100 of 103 holds - aaaggghhhh!!!

The movie is supposed to be about the first book and due out in the beginning of Dec. I'm reading Eclipse now and beginning to get a little sick of "how beautiful Edward is":D and I have already purchased Breaking Dawn (4th book). Everyone was talking about her books so I went a brought one, started reading it and couldn't figure out what they were talking about. When I looked more closely at the back I realized it was the end of a series. When you finish the series go to www.stephaniemeyer.com" someone told me there are parts of a book on there that is unfinished-she isn't going to finish it. Oh well, happy reading everyone-back to the book-see you later but I need to stop at 10 for Brothers and Sisters

I read the 3 books, i still need to get teh 4th one Eclipse. I love the series, its so good and i cant wait for the movie. !!!!

I am glad to hear that you like the books. I actually borrowed the first two from my aunt yesterday and am about to start reading them. She told me they were really good.

She and I are both Harry Potter addicts and have been looking for something comparable to fill the void not that the HP story has come to an end. I've never really been one to sit down and read, but I got used to 'unwinding' before bed by reading a bit. I figured it was getting close to Halloween, so it's a good time to check this series out.

My daughter got me hooked:laugh: We've both read the first three books and are now waiting on her friend to finish the fourth so we can read it next;)

Makes you WANT vampires to get you huh? LOL I read all 4. I loved the first one and second one, and slowly got bored through the 3rd and 4th... Im glad I read them though! I can't wait for the movie in December! 4 books packed into 1 movie, at least it should move quicker! :)

Umm I love those kind of stories. I have never heard of these books though, :confused:. someone mentioned Harry Potter books. So are these on the same level, or are they a bit more geared towards adults??????

No i would say they're more towards teenagers, young adults but plenty adults read them. It's fantasy but not as much 'magic' as Harry potter or violence

OMG I love those books! I love HORROR movies and anything to do with vampires, zombies and werewolves lol I also love the Sookie Stackhouse book series by Charlaine Harris -- they made it into an HBO series called True Blood which I LOVE. :D

I have to admit...I read through Twilight in record time...I just coudn't seem to put the book down! Ha!

I love the Twilight Saga...I read all 4 books in a week and a half and that included me going to work. I could not put it down when I was home. I couldn't sleep either!!! I was addicted. It was amazing though. I can't wait to see the movie!

Really???? I LOVE those books. I will have to try and find out how I can watch the series. Any idea if its still playing?

It's a brand new series that started 4 weeks ago. This Sunday is episode 5 but you can still catch the first 4 episodes because they play them during the week.

I'm replying to this without reading any of the other responses...just in case.

I started reading the first book in the series a week ago on Monday--I am now 1/2 way through the 3rd book and will probably start the 4th one by tomorrow.

These books are SOOO GOOD!

Now I can't wait until I actually finish them so that I can talk about them and read what other people have to say.

whew! Just finished the Twilight series last night (and have read the unfinished portion of Midnight Sun) and all I can say is WOW! The books are AWESOME!

I hope that Meyer does rewrite them all from Edward's POV...I would LOVE to have 4 more books about this group to read.

I agree that the books are good. It took a wierd turn at the end, but it all makes sense now.

That's exactly what I thought too. About mid-way trhough the last one I was mad and thinking, "what is THIS crap all about!?" But then in the end, I saw it all had a bigger purpose. :)

I thought the Edward/Bella books were all good but I didn't want the twist in book #4 at first. I think book #4 should have dealt with half of the story in more detail and then had a #5 that dealt with the other half of the story. I'm looking forward to Edward's book though (and, of course, the movie).

As for True Blood, that is a very, very interesting show (graphic!!) - the last episode was upsetting!! And Sookie's brother - OMG~~!! By the way, I had my name LONG before Sookie Stackhouse was around! :D

The last book was by far my least favorite. :( Not the way I wanted it to end, but it is what it is and that's how she chose to write it, so what can ya do? The way I see it, any continuation of the story is better than no 4th book at all! :)

The final trailer was released on the official movie website last night. There were so many people trying to watch it that it tied the site up altogether and I couldn't even get it to pull up. Thankfully, someone put it on youtube:

I loved the Twilight series. I had bought Twilight for my daughter for her birthday a few years ago and she kept telling me I needed to read it, I finally read them when the third book was coming out. Then I was disapointed I had to wait another year for the last one.
I also read The Host that she wrote for adults...it was hard to get into. I liked it...kinda...when I was done I gave it to my son to read, who loves SciFi. He hasn't finished it yet...I hope she decides to add to the Twilight series. My daughter & I will go to the movie when it comes out....it is always so hard to see a movie when you've read the books. The movie never quite lives up to your expectations.:(

Hmmm, sounds like something I might like... are they appropriate for young teens? My son and I read the Harry Potter books together and I'm wondering if we would enjoy this series?

Why don't you read the first one in the series and decide for yourself?
They are were written for young adults, but I really enjoyed them.
Has your son read the Eragon series by Christopher Paolini? My son loved Harry Potter also and enjoys them. The author wrote the first book draft when he was 15 I believe.

The first 3 books are appropriate, but the last one introduces some adult situations. Its not too graphically descriptive, but the ideas are there. Other than that, its a great story.

im soooo excited for the movie! Rob Pattinson is soooo hot! At least there he is, and his hair looks perfect! I like Kristen Stewart but i have to say her voice is a little manly, i always thought of Bella as having this really feminine voice and so dainty. I just dont like how she delivers the lines:rolleyes:

So i just finished the twilight series yesterday and i'm still itching for vampire books. i love True Blood and was thinking about reading the books. However I do not want to read ahead if its going to spoil the show. Is this a problem when reading the books?
