What tiny little one. I understand how your heart melts. The only way I would think that he has a chance on that type of trip would be to fly out and pick him up - ok it with the airlines and treat him like a "hospital patient" so that you can take care of him in flight.

I checked.... the post earlier is correct in that pups must be 8 weeks old for traveling, even in cabin w/ a passenger.

It's 1800 miles from Portland to OKC...... a 28 hour drive one way....

I honestly don't have what it takes for that....

I actually thought about it (very briefly) at one point... but I don't think that's something I could manage, given my physical health...... but as the need arises, I will continue to do what I can - regardless of how little that may be.

I'm going to "work this" as though the whole thing may be a possibility for little Duke.... but I'm really not certain, considering the information that I'm getting from Ruth - if Duke is going to be able to hang on long enough....

He's just 24 hours old, but she says he may already have aspirated and she thinks she hears the beginnings of pneumonia... (i.e. "junky lungs")

I just don't think we can make this one work.... it's SUCH a long way and there just aren't enough folks to make the trip for him....

Wish there were something more I could do.

I've contacted several rescues (a couple of emergency hotline numbers too) in Ruth's area as well as national breed rescues... with no response yet.
