I am so depressed! OK, so I finally had to make myself admit that I will NOT be able to make our traditional Thanksgiving Week trip to Disney World and I am so BUMMED about it. :( We're hoping to buy a bigger house in about a year and so we thought it would be best to forgo the trip and use the money towards other things so that we can get ourselves set to do actually do it instead of just talking about it. But it still STINKS! So I'm depressed now. |
Well, I have to forgo my Disney trip, and can't buy a bigger house next year, plus I don't look like Catherine Zeta Jones, and nobody even imagines I do. :D |

I think I'm more depressed about the fact that this means I will more than likely have to be around the in-laws for at least part of the day. :( |
When we built our house, I believe we did not get to go on our yearly vacation for 3 years!! It really sucked!!! (But having my new home was worth it.) Couldn't wait to go on vacation on the 4th year. It made it that much more appreciated and fun!!! It will be worth it in the end!! |
Aw sorry you dont get to go on your trip! It will be all worth it though when you get in your new house though |
Maybe not now but soon I am sorry you are depressed however, a new home wow. Don't get me wrong but you have goals and that is precious or priceless. Your priorities are in the right place. I always say that Disney will be their forever. You will miss this year however, after you move in your new dream house with your feet up you won't really regret the fact that you ever missed it. It takes some people a lifetime to achieve a dream, work towards goals, be motivated to keep pressing towards them. It seems to me you have it all together so stop being depressed take a deep breath and know you have all your eggs in the right basket. |
I knew eventually we would have to give up a trip, but it still stinks just the same. But we'll go back in the spring...I know, poor me, right? I think it just stinks because this is how we always celebrate the holiday. :( |

It'll be worth the sacrifice....just think a year from now...you'll be all :yay_jump: over the new house. |
Maybe the in-laws would be willing to dress up like Mickey or Goofy. :D |

Lol, what a great description. I guess you're the "white" sheep of the family. |
Sorry you are depressed, but a small sacrifice to pay in exchange for a "new home"!!! When I get down, I think of all the people that lost everything to Hurricane IKE, I feel so blessed. Just think, in a year you can have that vacation. You are a sweetie. |

I have my eye on one of the officers so let's keep our fingers crossed that they start something this weekend! :p Quote:
Oh by far.... I'm the only member of my family to graduate high school or college. The only one other than my mom or grandma who hasn't quit a job in the last year because they didn't feel like going. The only one other than my mom and grandma who pays their OWN bills. The only adult that hasn't been to jail (other than my mom and grandma). It goes on and on.... P.S. did I mention I don't have a "dad", so this is just my maternal family. |

Oh I can definitely compare. My aunt and her husband, one son and his girlfriend live in my grandmothers rental home. They can't seem to even come up with $50 a week in rent. My grandmother pays all the bills. None of the 4 work but they all have money for drugs and liquor. My aunt got mad the other week because my mom wouldn't take her to the Whataburger at 11:30PM and buy her a chocolate shake. So she decided to throw a drunken suicidal naked fit in the front yard. The neighbors called my mom. As my mom was driving her to the hospital to commit her to the psych ward for 3 days, my aunt jumped out of the moving car into the path of the on coming car. She held her arms out and said "Hit me" and they did. When she got to the hospital she denied all of this. But once the doctor told her she could get on Disability income and not have to work, she changed her story BACK to "I'm crazy!". Needless to say her husband reported to the hospital to visit her DRUNK and got in a fight with an orderly and was kicked out. |
Oh my gosh! This is hysterical. Sad, but hysterical.:lol tears I think you and I both deserve a vacation from our families! |

Anytime I get frustrated with them, my mom always says "Well look at it this way, you won't ever be bored!" On the upside, one of the officers that responded to the "Aunt" event, came by my mom's house the next night to check in on her and I was there helping hold down the fort! So the next day, I dropped a plate of cookies and a thank you note off at the station for him. Maybe somebody else'll goes nuts soon, so that I can see him again! :p |
Crazy family...more effective than eharmony. |
