Hi Pam. I'm so sorry about your family's situation. Thankfully they have you in their time of need. While I do agree with V, that there are some 'crazies' out there and you probably shouldn't have your personal info 'out there'... I have to admit that I forwarded your info to my cousin who has granddaughters (and a huge family/friend network!) in the hopes that she can help with items for the girls. I was at Red Cross today to donate blood. (When they told me I was a very popular A+ I thought it was a compliment until they explained it was just a blood type!) They weren't interested in household/clothing donations at this time because they said it would be difficult to get stuff to those in need. I pray that if people are able to send you things that they will get to you in time to help. If there comes a time when those things would help your family and actually make it to you, please let us know what you need. Meanwhile, even though I know that it is just a drop in the bucket and it makes me feel so impotent, I hope that the check I wrote will offer some relief to someone in need. I think Red Cross has a pretty good record as far as actually helping people. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and all the others that have suffered such a tremendous loss. |
I posted some pictures from Hurricane ike inside the house. The smell was horrible. You could barely open doors they were so swollen. Everything was wet and stinking. Mattress and everything soaked. More up soon! Thanks to all who are helping my family. This was just one of the 4 damaged. Sincerely Pam |
How terrible! I am so sorry for your family. I can't imagine loosing everything. Where do you begin again. I guess you just have to be happy to be alive. Material things, in time, can be replaced but loved ones can't. Your wonderful to open your home to your family. Prayer's coming that they can settle and start life over when insurance settles their claim. Hang in there because it just has to get better for all. Hugs, |
I'm sorry, i can't see the pictures, when I click the first link it says, page not found. The second link takes me to your myspace page, but I don't know how to see the pix??? :( Quote:

I will definately keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. |
God this is just breaking my heart. Sweetie...I am SO SORRY....I am from Texas as well and we thought that Ike was coming here where I live.....I can't even imagine what your family is going through. I have family in Houston, Clear Lake and Conroe, and NONE of them have power so I have no idea how their homes are right now...some evacuated, some stayed....the ones that evacuated of course don't even know what their homes are like yet ...and the ones that stayed we cannot get in touch with  I am just so so sorry that you all are having to go through this...my heart is just breaking  I am saying many many prayers for you and your family hun :hands: |
Just an update........My sister adjuster said he would give her a whopping 4200.00 for her house......The whole thing! She did not have a separate flood policy so it did not cover her damages. What a joke......She lost everything. The adjusters have not even made to my niece and nephews house. Still nothing has arrived from FEMA either. Its crazy! How are people suppose to survive Well the church and some very caring YT member have really stepped up. We have been driving 2 hours there and 2 hours back every day so they can try to save family pictures and what ever we can. Exhaustion is an understatement. But when your family hurts.......you hurt with them! I sat today pulling photos out of albums that were under water. My dad is 70....thats a ton of pictures. We have to lay them out, So many were ruined. It's so sad. My kindergarten class picture destroyed......My great- grandfather's picture......:(,I know we will survive this but right now it is so hard...Thank you so much to the YT members who helped my family. There are no words to show our gratitude. Thanks PAM PS Go to my myspace to see pics........www.myspace/kpam |

Oh my gosh, where oh where is the news coverage on the devastation caused from Ike? We turn on the news and all we hear is the politics and all the foreclosures going on, the news media needs to focus more on the real devastation of those there in Texas, with all the folks that have lost so much and some everything they have worked all there lives for. I have sent email to Mr. McCain and also Mr. Obama, suggesting they go down and help pass out food to those that are in need and also ice for all the folks struggling with no electricity, etc. Lets see which one gets there first??????????? Please know I say this with compassion for those hurting, all the stupid commercials spent on this election why don't the candidates donate some of it down there to get things cleaned up and the folks lives back to as much normalcy as possable, these are solely my opinion. Please know that our hearts feel the pain you all are going through down there and we are continually keeping each of you in our prayers. God does give us the strength to push on, may each of you feel Gods loving arms about you and getting you through these difficult times. I have not physically been able to be on line these days, however my prayers are with many here. I truely have missed being with YT and reading and keeping up with so many here, really don't know how long it will be before I can get back to using the computer as I so want to do. Hugs to you Pam, Your friends, Patti and Jack |

patti - you are so special the national news is not covering the situation at all. Being in houston i can keep up with the situation due to our own news and from what i've seen with my own eyes ...but from what i hear - the national news barely bothered - people like pam's family and denise are being ignored there's only 50% power restoration in the areas hit by this hurricane and we are now a week into it |
Sorry patti - tried to do all caps and it kept changing my font |
