Puppy Mill Dachshunds Available for Adoption

As some of you know from reading the WV puppy mill thread. My shelter has taken 17 of the Dachshunds that were taken from that puppy mill. If anyone is interested in any of these dogs please let me know. I will not post pics of all of them just some. So if you are looking for a certain color let me know. We have several colors and some long haired ones. All seem in rather good health. We have two puppies that are about 4 to 5 months old. Most of the dogs are female. We only have 3 males. The four I have pictured here aer females. The one is very afraid but not agressive in any way.

My heart is breaking for all of them, especially the white one. I hope someone can get them. Have you tried posting this on craigslist?

No not yet. There are a lot of shady people on our local Craigslist. W ewant to make sure tehy go to go homes, they deserve it. Oh and by the way, Our adoption fee is $10 and that includes spay/neuter and rabies vaccine!!

That sucks. We don't ship dogs either. You could always take a trip to the east coast!

I am halfway across the country too! :( And cannot take any trips anytime soon. I hope you find wonderful homes for them. They deserve it. I love numbers 5 and 6.

No typo. We only charge $10 that is why we try to be careful and only adopt to good people.

Ah, Tina they are all cutie pies. :) I love the coloring on the Doxie in your #2 pic. I hope they all find great forever homes. They deserve that.

Well two were already adopted today. But not the one I really like. Somebody that adopted one today posted we had several doxies on Craigslist . So I am afraid it will be crazy at work tomorrow. I am the only one working this weekend and all our kennels are full. So much to clean I was hoping it wouldn't get too busy until a couple of us were working. Oh well maybe I will adopt a lot of them.
Plus we have a ferret if anyone is interested.

Tina, I'm going to my local Humane League tomorrow and volunteering. But maybe I'll just come to VA and help you out. ;) Really, I'd like to do that, but your just too far away. I think you should adopt that Doxie you were talking about. :) Remember, tomorrow, "your only 1 person and can only do so much". Good Luck. :goodluck:

I live in Fredericksburg. I am interested in adopting a little girl. If you don't mind, please send me pictures of the little girls. I have had girl doxies for the last 11 1/2 years. The oldest being 11 1/2 and the other 4 years old.

They are 14 girls. All of ones that I posted here are females. I don't have pics of all of them on my computer. We have red, brown, black & brown, long hair, short hair, different sizes. That is so good of you all. Really.

I thought about these girls all night tonight at work. That little brown girl really has my heart. I'd so LOVE to see every single one of them go to great homes. :)

Good evening, my niece just came by and the person said you were closed. :( She will try to come back tomorrow. How many little girls do you have left?

I wish she would have said who she was. It was 4:30 and I was SOOOO busy today that I still had stuff to do before I left. We have one female left. She is about 6 years old and brown or red, I can\'t remember which. We adopted 15 of them today.
