Age difference in marriage :awink:I was wondering how many women in yorkie talk, are married to, or dating younger men, and how many men in here are married to older or much younger women. :rolleyes: |

My boyfriend is younger than me, but not by much. He's going to be 22 on Thursday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUN!!:D) and I will be 23 next month. For 22 days we can (or at least I can;)) enjoy being the same age. And then my birthday comes and he goes back to calling me his "old lady". He's such a dork!!!:p |
DH is 3-4 years older than me. I've heard from somewhere that your relationship can reflect on how many years apart you are in age. Like some compare it to like legs under a table. If you're 3 years apart, its like you have a 3 legged table and your relationship is rocky or unstable. If your 4 years part you have a stable relationship. No wonder during the months that my hubby and I are 3 years apart we tend to not really agree on things, but other than that we are pretty stable. As for being like 6+ years, they more legs you have the more stable the relationship? I mean, just look at Ashton Kutcher and Demi More..:D BTW, I have no idea if I'm making sense, it getting late here and my brain is not functioning anymore. Good night YT'ers lol |

My DH is 10 + years older than I am. I was just out of my second marriage: again with stupid "boys" (my age). I wanted to be with a man that was done screwing up his life and wanting to really settledown. (He loves to tell me he had been there and done that! :D) I had 2 kids, they were 3 and 6.5. His kids were 14 and 17. So he really was already done with rearing kids. But..we have been together for 20 + years now and I would not change a thing!! :thumbup: ***ETA*** My Dad was 20 years older than my Mom...and to think that she passed away first....you just never know.... |

No I married a guy 3 yrs older. But when I was dating after my divorce I was dating guys much younger. Because at the time I wasn't interested and knew I wouldn't marry anyone that much younger. Hope that helps. But then when I got married I went back to the older guy. |
Mine is two years younger than me My last (deceased) was seven years older. I don't think age matters all that much once you're mature, unless it's a "parental" age difference, like if the spouse is 20 or more years older. Even some of those work out though. (The reason I say once you're mature is that I don't think it's a good idea for an 18 year old to marry a 30 year old, or to marry anyone, for that matter. That's a whole different discussion.) What matters with a spouse, or even someone you date, is who they are, not what year they were born. |

I have always dated older men as well. I have been together with my hubby for 6 years. Well I am 27yo and he is 47yo. It's a 20 year diference, more than anybody here, but we are in love and we are very happy. I don't think age is important, at least not for me! |

My boyfriend (hopefully hubby someday) is 8 years older than me. I got out of a relationship with a guy who was almost 3 years older than me and he was soooo immature, when i started dating again, I tried 'boys' my age (27 - 32, I was 29 at the time) and they were all just sooo LOST in this world. Living at home still, no ambitions, had crazy emotional baggage, partyers and drinkers big time..... I just couldn't do it. I have my own home and good job and new car and take care of myself. SSSoooo I dated this guy who was 15 years older than me, but he was too old for me (mentally I think) and now Im dating a guy 8 years older than me and its working out perfect! I never even realize the age difference. We get along sooo well, we were raised the same by our parents, we are in the same place in life, he is fun to be with, can keep going long after I fall asleep. I am mature for my age but I still like to have fun and be on the go all the time, he is exactly like that with me! He is going to be 40 next month, and Im going to be 32 in Nov. Even funnier, almost all my friends married guys younger than them from a year to like 3 years younger. |
In my first marriage I was married to someone 7 yrs older than me. It didnt work he was very controllingand I was very young. My 2nd Husband is only 6 mos older than me and we have been happily married for going on 9 yrs |

I am 17 years younger than DH. This year I'll be 53 & he'll be 70. We've been married 16 yrs. Sometimes I thank God that I did not let the "year" thing get in the way of our relationship. I cannot imagine life without him. It works for us. |
I am 9 1/2 years older than the Hubster. Honestly, it only occurs to us once in a blue moon. Like when I was talking about seeing ET in the theatre @ 19 yrs old and he says: "Me too, but there you were at 19 snogging your BF and I was eight years old and saw it with my dad.":rolleyes: I call him my "401-K" plan.:p |
My hubby is 8 years older than I am and our 15th anniversary is next month.:) When we met I was 18 and he was 26. I imagine when our daughter is 18 he would want to kill if a 26 year old so much as looked at her but we were meant to be so it's different.:p |
My mom is 2 years older than my dad, but she HATES when I date younger guys! The youngest I've dated was a year and a half younger than me. I'm 24 now, and I honestly feel that most of the guys younger than me (at least the ones I've dated, and I've dated a few younger guys!) are all just party party party all the time. I just feel more grown up I guess. My last younger guy, I was actually very heartbroken over when our relationship ended. I honestly thought I would marry him. Well my friend just told me she saw him out a week ago and he was so drunk he couldn't stand up. And I thought it's so amazing how we're in such different places in our lives, it never would have worked out anyway! |
