I quit Petco.
 

I quit working for Petco. I dont know how many of you know this or not but I got bit pretty bad by a golden retriever a few weeks ago. Had a hell of a time getting to the hospital for stitches. Going to have plastic surgery so I dont have a huge scar. But anyway, Petco has been jerking me around about who pays the medical bills. I have already paid almost $500 out of my pocket for this damn bite on co-pays, perscriptions, and so on. So I went in today and talked to some one from corporate Petco that was there and she treated me like sh**. I got MAD :mad: :mad: :mad: I ahve worked for Petco since the store opened in 1992, I was a sophmore in highschool and it was a part time afterschool job. I kept it as a part time all this time. And they want to treat me like sh**?? :thumbdown So after hearing her talk to me like I was a 12 year old moron. I looked right at her and said, "You can stop talking to me like I am stupid because the only stupid one in this office right now is YOU!!" She then went on to tell me that the bite doesn't seem to be affecting me too much because I can drive my jeep which is stick ok. So I ask what the hell my jeep being a stick has to do with the bite on my arm. Then the dumb bi*** says, well if it affected you that much you wouldn't be able to shift. I laughed. :) Said you really are stupid aren't you?? The f-ing bite is on my left arm. And I dont know about you but I drive in the USA where my shifter is on the right side of my body. Then I told her to look forward to a call from my attorney.
I called a lawyer. I have left out a bunch of other issues that I have been having with this bite and petco but if I wanted to list all of those I would be typing forever and boring ya'll to death. SO I am now sueing Petco. I dont have any problems with the store itself. I will still shop there. Just not at this store here. I have been treated like sh** from the moment I got bit. So the hell with them. :mad:

Sorry, to hear that you got jerked around and had to resort to suing
to get anywhere with them but sometimes that's what it takes to
get peoples attention. I just don't get if you worked there and were
hurt there what the heck their issue was and why you had to pay
anything out of pocket. That should have been their responsiblity
not yours. Good luck with your case because the way they treated
you just was not right in my opinion.

wow people suck. i hope you feel better. i hate when people try to talk down to me also like im nobody. i guess im too nice. well hopefully they get whats coming to them. good for you, if they are going to treat you like that after all that you have done well i hope you tear them a new a**hole. good luck!

If I didnt pay the stuff I wouldnt have gotten in to see the doc and wouldnt have gotten the meds that I needed. the part that ticked me off though is that they say that they aren't going to reemburse me for what I have paid out of pocket. But I am sure they will now. :)

wow that sucks that you had to go through that! that is hilarious that she brought up that whole stick thing with the car.. i hope you get the justice you deserve!

I actually do feel alot better now than I did. I am healing up really well. Had 2 surgeries now. YAY!! On all kinds of pain meds. WHOOHOOO..... I think I could staple my foot to the floor and not feel it. :thumbup: But thanks. My attorney is very confident in this case. :)

I am actually going to do a few different things. Main thing is though on all of them I am my own boss. I am going to do mobile grooming. Go to peoples houses and groom for them that way. I have really built a clientel in the past few months so I think things should go well.

I am also going to start doing landscape design. I love gardening and working with plants and peoples yards. I already have a BA in Art. So I am going to take some basic plant knowledge classes at the tech school here. I have a close friend who runs a landscaping business and he said that when I am ready he has a job for me. He has been looking for a designer for awhile now. Alot of people are getting far more interested in landscaping than they used to.

And last but not least, I got asked by a former employer of mine if I would come back to work for her. I said no I wouldn't work for her but I would work through her and she would get a share of my profits since it would be her barn that I would be working out of. This is a little secret of mine that non of you know but I used to train horses. Show horses to be exact. I gave riding lessons and all that good stuff. So now I am going to do all the same stuff just for myself and 10% will go to the barn that I will be working out of. :) :)

well it sounds like you have a plan and you dont need stinking petco :p

Wow..that SUX... I didnt know anything abt this...??? Was this a customers dog...that bit you in the store? Are they responsible?? Im clueless,,to how this happened...sorry.... :confused:

Like AQHA or a different type of horses. If it's AQHA I"m sure we'll know some people in common.

I'm pretty sure she works as a groomer at Petco and I think this happened during a grooming job if I remember right.

Wow, that's really awful. I hope they pay you back every red cent - you deserve it.

I am sorry to hear about petco but I am impressed at all the other things you can do. Thats awesome. You shouldnt have much problem keeping occupied! Maybe the stupid dog biting you was a blessing in disquise? :)

My advice: Don't do anything physical that will involve your left arm (where the bite is at). This can/will affect the outcome of your compensation from Petco.

I'm not sure if you are planning to also get monies for your now "affected" style of living, because let's face it...your arm is not 100% anymore. With that being said, you should be compensated.

And IF you were to do anything like landscaping (which involves both your arms), that can greatly affect how much you can receive.

Avoid all physical activities involving your left arm.

I show thoroughbreds, warmbloods and fresians. Dont really do much with 1/4 horses. I did when I was young but not anymore.

It was a dog that I was grooming. The owners are not responsible but Petco is since I am an employee and it is work related. The owners however felt horrible and are going to pay for the plastic surgery to remove the scar.

my jumper was part thoroughbred. We have a brood mare right now that is all thoroughbreed.

I have to go to some classes and stuff before I start anything. I wont do any more than I need to right now but I am not going to milk it for more than it is worth. I am a very honest person and all that I want is for my medical expenses to be paid and for my lost wages to be covered. That is it. I dont want anymore than that because I am not one to take advantage of something and I am not going to make my life stop because of this law suit.

I am sorry things didn't work out at petco. It sounds like you've got a plan though and will be okay. Good luck. :)

i'm sorry to hear that! I think your doing the right thing by sueing them..i would be too if i was in your shoes! There's NO reason anyone should act like that!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems with them. Seems that everything is fine till an issue like this comes up. Then, they turn like you're worst enemy. I hope that all of this gets settled either in or out of court. Best of luck to ya~!
