Vitamin Issue Hi guys, about a month ago I bought a bottle of Women's One a-day vitamins. I will admit I am terrible when it comes to taking care of myself. I don't eat right at all and I very seldom exercise. I could sit here all day and eat candy and be perfectly happy. I know this is bad and I decided I was going to try and change my bad habbits. I'm 27 and need to grow up a bit and stop with my candy obsession, haha! I'm not doing great but I am eating less junk, lol! Anways, I wanted to start taking a vitamin and decided to try women's one a-day. I have no idea whats wrong but I can't take these things. They make me vomit. I'm sorry for being gross but they seriously make me sick. I was taking them after I ate breakfast and then I tried dinner time and I still can't take them. I was nervous they were bad and even took them back to the vitamin store and explained what was happening. They were super nice and gave me another bottle to try but the same thing happened. I find this so odd. Has anyone else experienced this? If anyone recommends a good vitamin please let me know. :) |
It could be that you can't tolerate the antioxidents. Maybe just buy a small bottle of calcium first. If you can take that, then buy a small bottle of C, then A then E, then B and so on till you know what you can take and what you can't. |

zinc? i'm not sure if they might have zinc in them, but zinc makes me super nauseous. |
I had that happen when I first started taking suppliments. I kept taking them though and it became lessser and lesser untill I didnt do it anymore. Its like I had to build up a tolerance to it |

This is good info for me, too! My son gets sick when he takes vitamins and he really needs them. |
The iron in vitamins can do that. I suppose just about anything in them could. You might want to try a different brand, mixture or form. Have you tried something powdered like Reliv? I think Yorkiedaze had a great idea for you though. :) |
Thanks for the help everyone. :) |

Hi, no this was the only one I tried. I think I'm going to try another brand and see what happens. Thanks for the help. ;) |
Maybe try cutting the tablet in half and then swallowing! I take One-A-Day and they get stuck in my throat sometimes:eek: Good luck to you on your path towards a healthy life;) |
When I first started taking the same vitamins I had a bit of the same issue. Some people need to take it on a full stomach while others need to do it on an empty one. Try either and see what happens. |
My mom takes the women's one a day and when I tried them I had an allergic reaction to them. So now, I take Centrum chewables. I chose them because I hate swallowing pills and they were the only adult vitamins that are chewable. At first, people would tell me that Centrum was for seniors but, my bestfriend who is the same age as me (I am 22 btw) went to the doctor and they perscribed Centrum vitamins for her. I really like them! I have noticed that it makes me eat more (which is good because I don't eat as much as i should). Maybe you should try them. They maybe a little more expensive and they don't come in the really big bottles but, they are really good. And orange flavored :p |
My mom used to get nauseous from multi vitamins and had to take them right before she went to sleep. I know that's risky because you don't want to be up sick in the middle of the night but it always worked for her. |
