Just took a 36 hr road trip to Myrtle Beach(spent 1 hr in MB) and back and the lowest down there was $1.79. Sam's club would be cheaper. It was below $2.00 most of the way back until PA. It's $2.17 here on the NY border. Go about 3 miles north into NY and it's almost 50 cents higher:confused:.

Unforunately though, I think that our gas prices will go up some during inaugeration week since I live so close to DC... not because of politics, but because of the money hungry gas shop owning people that want to make money off of the 4 million people expected to attend. I don't care as long as they go back down!!!

last night at the 'Race Trac' it was $1.69.

I was like, "holy cowwww! 1.69?? not like bad holy cow, but good holy cow!!'

My very first remembered fill up was at $1.06 or something in like 1994...

This could be a whole new topic. I'm a bit older. The first car I ever bought was in 1964. I think I had it for a year or two before I ever paid over $.25 a gallon for gas. Gas stations used to have "price wars" back in those days, and it wasn't unusual to see gas for $.15 a gallon. With my car, I could drive 400 miles for about $3. Of course, back in those days I made about $1 an hour - so that was over 3 hours' work (after deducting for taxes). Today, driving an SUV around town a bit over two hours' work will get me 400 miles. I guess price per gallon isn't the whole story.

I got my first car 6 years ago and it cost me only $20 to fill it up then. I think I had a 12 gallon tank. By the time I got rid of it this past May, I was being charged over $40 for the same exact car!! Now I have my new car that has about a 17.5 gallon tank and it was costing me almost $70 for car. Now it's down to about $40ish to fill my car up.

Right now it's between $1.79 (at Walmart) to $1.93 at Kangaroo

$2.69. The Alaska Legislature is investigating why it's so high, but all they come up with is the local refineries can charge whatever they want.
