I saw on the news that he had pneumonia. It's shocking that in this advanced world people can still die from things like pneumonia. He was a very funny man. Such a shame. My prayers are with his loved ones.

he also had a serious lung disease that was in remission.

Oh I'm going to miss him a lot. I really loved his show and I would crack up every time he would say..."America" and then go on talking. :( I know how bad he must have been. I have had pneumonia 4 times (once every year for the past 4 years) and it's no fun. You are so out of it for months even after you start to feel better. All you want to do is sleep and your chest is hurting so bad with the coughing and high fever. :(

Bernie will be truly missed he was a good man and a funny one to boot.:(

Wow...I hadn't heard that...I will have to tell DH, he use to watch "the Bernie Mac Show" all the time. Only 50! Wow! So young!

It is so hard to believe that he died, he has had pneumonia before but this time I guess it was worse, he also has asthma. My whole family loved to watch his shows and movies especially the Bernie Mac Show. My father was trying to find out was he our cousin because him and my father favor each other and we have the same last name.:( I will pray for his whole family, I know God will help them through this rough time. Villette I feel like they could have made more than an announcement also, they made a big thing when Paris H got out of jail and I didn't care if she was in there or out!

To add to my original post - they ARE giving him air coverage now...I guess yesterday when I saw it on the news it had just happened. :(

Bernie Mac lives on in our house. I My Bernie\'s full name is Bernie MacArthur, and some of us call him Bernie Mac. He puts smiles on our faces too!
