ETA- I'm really not trying to force explanations or create any more drama. I just wanted to point out I am not so super trusting- anyone can look at the old threads and see that- I'm sure Dena hated me. I just didn't get that feeling this time. |

People are going to donate to what they want to donate to that is understandable. The older members have seen past threads and can decide for themselves. I think the newer members have a right to know everything before donating |

I usually do not post to threads like this one but I have to say this whole thing saddens me. Has anyone stopped to think what would have happened to Emma if Dena hadn't taken her in? The kids that had her wouldn't have known how to feed her or take care of her and she probably would have died. I think what Dena did was commendable, driving to get Emma to save her and then all of the time she has spent nursing Emma. The fact that she is eating, gaining weight, and moving around is much more than she would have done under the original owner's care. Reading what Dena has described from the vets, I think she has been doing an excellent job and all she can be expected to do. When she first got Emma, she didn't even know if she would last the day, let alone several. She just wanted to give Emma the chance to survive and grow that she didn't have with her original owners because of their lack of knowledge. As for those posters with questions, I think it is fine to ask questions but you might want to read what you write before you post. Some of the questions that were posted on here were argumentative right from the start and made people defensive. They may not have been intended to be that way when the poster wrote them but that is how they turned out. Also, I don't think anyone went out and tried to get donations for Emma. Those of us that had posted to this thread were just made aware that if we wanted to donate, here is where we could send our payment. From what I know, many people wanted to donate before anything was set up and they were told no at the beginning. I for one thought about donating before I did and I sincerely wanted to help Emma so I did make a donation--which has now been returned to me. That is what makes me sad--that something that started out with the best of intentions has now turned into something negative. Sorry to vent but I needed to say this. |
STOP ALREADY!!! Dena please update us. Just ignore the ugly comments. |

I wasn't aware of all the past problems, I truly just wanted to know when the dog was scheduled for a "follow up visit." Some of you are anxious to have updates, and that is the sort of update I was interested in. I wanted to see what the doctors would say. I personally can't imagine a doctor not wanting to see the dog at some point after surgery, and just wanted to know when his next scheduled appointment was. I got very suspicious when questions were meant with such hostility. I'm glad we have members who stick their heads out on a limb and warn other members to be cautious. It takes lots of reading to learn why people are upset about all this, but it was less than a year ago, right after she joined, Mom2BabyNatalie had another EXTREEMLY EMOTIONAL thread requesting donations. Members donated generously with many members making and selling things and giving all the proceeds to Dena, what exactly happened with all the money makes people leery. When someone comes on forum and requests money, they should be ready to answer questions. What would keep a person from obtaining a special needs dog, and using the dog to encourage donations? I know that this would be a horrible thing to do, but if YorkieTalk didn't have rules, this forum would be a hunting ground for scammers. Mom2BabyNatalie is an extremely good writer, and she knows how to use words in a compelling and dramatic fashion, no doubt people are drawn in to her problems, and of course if you wish to support her efforts, I'm sure you can, but some members felt that they would like to protect some of the truly kind hearted and wonderful people that this forum attracts, and I hope you take this post in the manner in which it was intended. If members want to be truly above board, and above suspicion than perhaps donation requests can go directly to the vet and hospital where the dog is treated, and not to PayPal accounts. |
regardless of all the drama going on in this post, we have all seen the photos of this little pup and my hope is that what ever is going on with Dena and her intentions that this little pup is being taken care of. My prayers still go out to emma and I hope that at some point I hear how she has pulled thru all of this. |
