One big fat raccoon!!!!
Probably weights over 50 pounds...
Possibly limping...

Wanted for falling on our 4 X 6 foot, double pane skylight and shattering both panes of glass. Thank goodness I had one of those coatings on it that hold all of the broken pieces in tact. Otherwise it would have fallen right through into the room where my parrots are. :eek::eek::eek:

I could get another yorkie for what it will cost to replace that skylight!!!

do u have homeowners insurance- it might help with the cost!!

What a bummer- and a weird thing to happen!!

No it didn't...thank goodness!! My blue and gold macaw and amazon parrot's cages are right underneath that skylight. :eek::eek::eek:

OMG, that is so scary. :eek: Is the raccoon still up on your roof? I'd be afraid to go outside for fear he'd still be around. Good Luck! :)

At least there's not a big ol' raccoon butte planted right in the middle of it. I'm hoping I can get it replaced quickly, before it rains. After all I live in Seattle and everyone know it rains here all the time. Here's a pic of the damage.

Yes, it made me laugh!! It hasn't rained glass yet...but it could. One of the glass companies I called, told me not to try to cover it because if I moved it, it might all come falling down. Shoot, brainstorm....I think I'd better go move my birds cages, just in case!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

That's prudent. :D

You might also want to lay some sheets there in case it does fall down. Especially if you have carpet. This would capture any shards that might work their way into the carpet. :( I hope that they get it repaired in a timely manner. Perhaps you could have them install a stained glass Yorkie there instead of plain glass. Then you would have your Yorkie too. :p

He was on the upper roof and fell off onto the lower one. My DH noticed the gutter above the skylight was bowed out a little. So he must have slid, then held onto the gutter, lost his grip and fell.

I'm really glad everyone is alright though. I know birds can be effected by tose things for quite a while!

That too funny. If it was a suicide attempt, it probably was not successful. I haven't seen any fat raccoon bodies anywhere in my yard.

We get raccoons on our roof all the time. My DH noticed that the gutter above the skylight was bowed out so he figured the raccoon started to slide, grabbed the edge of the gutter, then fell. Wish I would have gotten that on video!!!

Oh shoot...I thought I posted on this???:confused: No it has not fallen yet!! But we did get a quote today and S**t (sorry) but it was $2,700. Yikes, Rocky Racoon better be looking over his shoulder!!! I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but I was not expecting this!!!

No kidding!!! And...they won\'t touch the skylight....we have to remove it etc. because they don\'t want to be liable for any damage it might make. Rocky better beware now....he could very well be lunchmeat!!!:eek::eek::eek:
