Best Smelling Candles? I absolutely love candles, and have tried all kinds including the ever popular Yankee Candles. I've found that many other brands are actually stronger smelling than the Yankee, and I would love to get the opinions of other "candle people" as to which ones they like the best, favorite scents, etc. I've even made my own in the past, but now with all the furbutts, I just don't have the time. The last batch I ordered was called "Mountain Candles", and I also loved the triple scented ones from "Ye Olde Candle Mill", but haven't been able to find those anymore. Does anyone make their own? Any favorite brands/scents? Thanks!! |
I'm an independent Scentsy consultant. I happen to LOVE the candles because they are wickless, sootless, flameless, etc. The wax is warmed with a 25wat bulbed warmer. PM me if you have any further questions about it. |
I usually get yankee. My Mother in law bought us one and I dont know what brand it was but it was creme brule and it was my favorite one Ive ever had |
For most of my adult life, I have lived a scent-free life, because most scents throw me into excruciating migraines. Try going to the symphony or to a public theatre . I finally found I could tolerate the rose scent from Party Lite candles; but, ONLY the rose. And, then, they stopped making that scent. Of course  Then, a couple of months ago, I discovered soy-based candles. I am now enjoying the raspberry in two rooms of my house (I don't even need to light them), and Cinnabun in my kitchen! I LOVE it! One of my daughter's care assistants make them, and I've asked her to look into honeysuckle and apple. |
Hmm, I haven't tried the soy-based candles yet. I, too, am sensitive about certain scents that are just too "perfumy" and cause headaches! |
I have some triggers, too. I don't care for sandalwood or Patchouli scented items. |

I love good smelly stuff!! One of the girls I work with had a Scentsy Catalog Party a couple of months ago. I love Scentsy!!!! These are wonderful - definitely worth checking out!! My favorite traditional candles are Salt City Candles - they last forever and the scents are really strong. |
I like the Salt Lake City Candles also, they smell up the whole house ! |
My favorite are Root candles. They are soy and they are scented stronger than Yankee. My mom gets them at Fresh Market in NC but I can't get them locally so I buy Yankee. Yankee has new soy candles so I'm excited about that. |

Even with soy you deal with something burning. I like the soy candles compared to other ones with flames however, I feel safer with a warmer doing the work and not worrying about leaving it on or the kids or Guinness knocking it. The wax lasts from 50-80 hours depending on the bar and you don't have to keep it lit constantly to enjoy the scent. To be honest, I like the idea of Scentsy because I'm so forgetful and especially when I was pregnant, I lit a towel on fire before! :( |
We sell candles in our gift shop in our pharmacy, and both lines do very well. One is Beanpod Candles, and the other line is Tyler. They are both soy, and yes you still do have somewhat of a burn issue with soy candles. The key to burning candles and getting the full burn time of the candle, first time burn at least 4 hours, thereafter at least 3. Your wax needs to melt out to the edge of the jar, or the candle will tunnel, and you will lose some burn time. HTH, Sheri |
Salt City candles are the best but they are mostly out west |
I like Old Virginia Candles. They are triple layered, so three scents within one candle. And they have alot of yummy scents.:animal-pa |
Gold Canyon Candles are great!!!:):) They have one called orange blossom and omg, it smells fantastic! This has been one of the worst part about me loosing my sense o tast and smell: I can no longer smell candles!!!:( |
I have become a tart girl, and wow are they great!! I love laugh out loud candle shop: LOL Laughing Out Loud Soaps and Candles - shop safely online now if your a lush fan she dupes some of lush top selling soap scents!! I do like yankee tarts as they last a while as well |
My favorite are from Home Interiors & Gifts They last longer than anything else I have ever tried - they have such a wide variety of scents, introduce new scents for different seasons and they have regular and soy candles in so many size options including pillars I have several favorite scents they carry |

I love Root candles.... my all time favorite scent is "Sampaquita". I have no idea what a sampaquita is ;) but it smells like heaven! And I think Trapp candles have a really big scent. My favorite of those is Tuberose. |
Like Yorkiesmiles, I'm a Home Interiors candle person. They've had the most scent (without being overpowering) out of all the candles I've tried. Great when burning for pleasure, and they're also great when I cook something smelly like fish. One that ticks me off is PartyLite. I spent a fortune the first time I went to a party, and I was never able to smell them while they were burning. One of the ones I bought was a $33 three-wick; even with the whole thing lit, absolutely no scent! |
I too love home interior candles. I use a candle warmer instead of lighting them. I have a hubby that blows out my candles all the time, now the 12 year old is starting to do it to. I also use my air purifier and put fragrant oils in it and I have a ton of different scents as I make my own soap and love all the different scents I can get. |
!! I loveeeeeeeeeee candles! :) My favorite is made by Swan Creek Candle Co. and the scent is hazelnut. Their site is: Swan Creek Candle Co Call us toll free 888-272-2773 Tammy |

I love a brand called Circle E candles. They have awesome scents and they make my whole house smell wonderful. Hm, they may be local though, I'll look into that. |
Oh, they are local. Made in Fredricksburg, Texas. I have been to the showroom and it is awesome. But they also sell them and ship them from their website: Circle E Candles - Home. I highly recommend!! |
