My granddaughter is also fond of dolls. When she was three, we had a 'nursery' here at the house. She would wrap all of her babies...8 - 10 of them, and put them in rows on the floor and sssshush all of us because it was nap time. She was a good mommie too. ;) |

I'm freaked out over lifelike dolls. When I was young, I had a doll that actually let out a long sigh-like hum. It scared the heck out of me. I actually had very violent nightmares after that all related to the doll. Why did I click on that link? |

Oh, everyone is gonna hate me for this one, but I never liked Barbie dolls. I thought they were too...ummmm...sexual in appearance for the little girls to be playing with. It was the beginning of where we are now. Little girls wearing things that I consider to be too revealing, wearing make-up and such at very young ages, and asking questions like "does this make my butt look cute?" And when Abercrombie and Fitch marketed thong underwear for little girls I thought that was so irresponsible! And a pedophiles dream. My granddaughter turned ten two days ago, but wants to look much older. There is far too much out there for them to emulate that I consider too much and it is getting worse by the day. I am so thankful to not be raising kids. It is stressful enough for me to watch my grandchildren dealing with all of the stuff that is constantly shoved in their faces on television, movies and games. I am so sick of viagra ads on tv that I could croak. But.... back to the dolls....I would never watch those killer/possessed type doll movies. They were far too freaky for me too! But those that look like babies...I just love babies!! So I just love those dolls. :) __________________________________________________ ___ |
WOW ... sure looks like a real Baby to me .... |
I loved baby dolls as a little girl but those really creep me out. There's something almost corpse-like about them. They just seem too real to not have any life. |

My daughter had a baby doll that would just randomly go off in the middle of the night. I was shipped from the US to Germany and I think it got banged around. It had this demented warped sound to it. Ha ha ha maaaamaa it would say. We've had a barbie or two that hit the tub and shouldn't have. Nothing like hearing "let's go to the mall" at 3 o'clock in the morning. Or those stupid tomagotchi pet things. I'm hungry. Feed me. |

That's pretty hilarious! I would rather have a silent one that just looks real. LOL The three in the morning request to go to the mall would do me in for sure. :p |
i have seen those newborn berengeur babies on ebay, they look so real! |
That is scary!! I second the corpse-like comment. It just seems like....almost like a dead baby, as sick and awful as that sounds. I mean I guess you'd call them BEAUTIFUL because they're sooo lifelike, but it's just SO creepy to me. PS - I hate Barbies LOL. They scare me. Lifelike dolls tend to scare me like that. And Furbies. My furbie spent a lot of nights sleeping burried my closet cause the thing scared the crap out of me. I used to have this big horse thing in my room that I could sit on, and if you squeezed it's ear it would be a little girl singing Home On the Range. One night we had a thunderstorm, and there was a HUGEEE clap of thunder and the power went out. and then sitting in the dark in my room I hear this little girl singing "Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam..." it took me 5 minutes of FREAKING out to realize that it was my horse (which went in the garbage the next day). I hate talking dolls and such!! especially when the battery starts to die and they sound all morbid and their voice is really low. SCARY STUFF!! |

LOL You would have been scared to come to my house when i was little, i had about 100 dolls all lined up on shelves around my room, and my fav. ones were the most lifelike ones, i would even buy real baby clothes, etc for them:rolleyes: I had one tho, well still do actually that has this creppy smile and when you press her she says the time, and she says it really creepy sounding. I should take a pic of her so you can see, my bf hates her, hes scared of all my dolls but i just saved my favorite ones, theyre all in my closet tho somewhere:p |
Whoa haha! Crazy story and crazy babydoll! I still love babydolls though and I'm 20 , I can't wait to have a daughter so I can play house with her hehe :p. Up until I was like 15/16 I was still getting Lee Middleton dolls which look kind of real (not as real as these in the story though) and felt realllly real... I still have them though, all 5 of them :( haha! Ok, I suck. |

WOW! |
I'm pretty sure thatlast week I read on YT that someone said they make Reborns. |

I dont hate you for that! LOL! As a matter of fact, I hated barbie as a girl. I remember my grandma got me one for my birthday and I had to pretend I liked it because I didnt want to hurt her feelings. I didnt want to play with a grown woman!! I wanted babies!! I refuse to step foot into Abercrombie because of their sexual marketing. For my kids or myself. |

I know what you mean about those dolls. I saw on the news about a mom buying a Bratz doll for her daughter, I think it was a "baby" doll, but the baby was wearing a thong! I didn't know what to think.... As for that baby doll, it's cute but I would be to scared to have something like that in my room. Marionettes scare me too... Quote:

2 Attachment(s) Gee... I have four reborns..... :D |

Wow...that really is life like.....how embarrassing for the police....but thank goodness they were on the ball....in case it had been a real baby....cause it does happen...people still leave their children in cars... |
