This is so weird Someone paid my cell phone bill this month and wasn't me or DH. I called to make my payment and she said, "Ma'am, your payment has already been made this month." :confused: Huh???? She said she couldn't tell me WHO paid it. Just that it had been paid already. I KNOW I didn't pay it. DH swears he didn't pay it. It has not been debited from our bank account. I don't have it set up on automatic bill pay. I have no idea how anyone other than DH or myself could have paid it because no one else knows the 4 digit passcode we have to use or anything like that. I am very confused. |
Have you done something nice for a stranger lately? I watched an interview where Donald Trump had a flat tire on his limo on the freeway and a guy stopped and changed it for him. The driver had called the company and they had another car on the way but "The Don" was going to be late. As he told the story the guy that changed the tire wouldn't accept any form of payment for his good deed except that he send his (the good citizen's) wife some flowers. The flower's didn't come right away, in fact it was a couple of days later. When the flowers did come they held a note that simply said your home mortgage has been paid in full, thank you. |
That is weird, but nice! Maybe it is payback for all the good things you've been doing to help others lately. :) Hope it doesn't come back later as a mistake and say you owe! With my luck that's what would happen to me. :( |
It sounds like they posted someone else's pymt to your account. Chances are they will find the problem and fix it. If you are not careful they will then charge you a late fee. You might call and ask foe a reciept. Iwork in medical billing and have seen it happen there. Good luck. |

I haven't gotten a receipt or proof of payment yet. I DID get a text message from T-Mobile that said: "Your next service cycle has started. You now have 1200 Whenever Minutes to use through 08-19-2008." I haven't done anything nice for anyone lately other than this stuff with the kiddos - and I KNOW they can't afford to pay it. lol It probably is just a glitch and I figure they will contact me when they realize it. |
This happened to me about 5 months ago. The only difference i see so far in what happened, is it looks like you have monthly bill, and we do pre-pay. We had Virgin Mobile at the time. Me and hubby's phones had a balance of about$2.00-$3.00 on them so i went and bought a $20.00 time card for each phone. I put the time on his, and he had 23- something on his phone, i then did mine and then checked the balance and it said i had 111.00 on the phone, which meant that 90 some dollars was on my phone before i ever put the 20 on there. I called because hubby got kinda frustrated wanting to know who put it on there, all they told me was that it was put on there the night before, and when i asked how did they do it without knowing my 4-digit pin all the lady could tell me is that she didnt know, but it was on there, and it was staying there. |
That's pretty much what she told me today. That it was paid and she couldn't UNpay it. :rolleyes: The only thing I can think that could have happened is that my GaGa paid it. My daughter is there and has her cell phone with her (which is on our plan). But when I called and asked GaGa she swore she didn't. So I don't know. I'm still confused. |

Well Happy Unbirthday to you!!! Just keep the money set aside in case they discover the error. :) Or pay it anyway and that way you'll be ahead of the game. |

I was actually thinking maybe DUG did pay it! Maybe he ran into some money or had some that he was saving for something (ciggs...) and he decided to help you guys out. DUG may have seen the light! :p I'm serious though haha. It's possible! PS - that story about Donald Trump...is really quite awesome. A lot of people think he's a jerk, but that story kind of proves that false. So what if that's like...pocket change to him? He still acknowledged that it's hard for other people, and seriously helped a family out. (sorry for the ramble lol). |

I am thinking - is there a breach in privacy/confidentiality? Some one paying your bill and them not telling you who - who else has access to your account? Could this be the start of idenity theft? Don't want to cause alam but these are my thoughts. I would want answers not a generic I can't tell you that. Ask to speak with a supervisior/manager go up the chain if you have too. |

Could it be the parents of the kids you babysit? I know that they're tight on money, but it may be something special they just wanted to do for you so they put some aside. If not, I agree with Sammiz and LeosMama, get it checked out. Go furthur. |
I hope it was someone doing something nice for you, but a few months ago, my dh went to pay our Verizon bill and they took his check, ran it thru and returned it (like they always do) and he left, assuming it had been posted. Not too long afterward I think his phone was shut off and he found out that it was b/c he supposedly hadn't paid the bill....so he talked to them, they turned the phone back on, he went down to show them the receipt and sure enough, the phone number they'd posted it to was the same number but a different area code(it was on the receipt)~ it took awhile to get it cleared up too....sometimes they're almost more trouble than they're worth. I'm glad they keep track of things better than my dh does:rolleyes: |

Could it have been a mistake? I know here at work my company has accidently paid random peoples' cell phone bills a few times lol. We'd get the wrong account number and not recognize the name (or not even look... we're getting bigger so not everyone is even known anymore) and the managers would sign off on it, send it to accounting, and it would be paid. Then after a few months someone will say "hey wait a minute... who IS this person??" |
