My Moms Aneurism Some of you may remember my Mom was ill a couple of months ago.and we were having all kinds of problems with her insurance etc.Well, she is finally having the surgery on her aneurism tomorrow morning. She has been waiting since May,when they told her surgery had to be done as soon as possible,and here we are in July! My husband is bringing the computer with him tomorrow,so maybe I can check in some time.This is a very serious and delicate operation,(6-8 hours),plus she is 82 years old , so if you can,please say some prayers:sad |
I will definatley keep your Mom in my prayers. Just to let you know my Dad had 8 hour surgery to repair an abdominal aortic aneurism in nov of 1999 when he was 80 years old. He is living on his own since my mom passed away last year, with help from us but is doing really well. He will turn 89 in October. So tell your Mom to think positive and with prayers and a will to live she should do great. |
Your mom and family have my thoughts and prayers, dad had this surgery several years ago. |

The hospital said if everything goes smoothly,she'll be in the hospital at least 7 days,then go to a nursing home for rehab,before she could come home. |

My grandma has a brain aneurysm and back in February had to have surgery to insert a coil to block it. She is 75 and she recovered wonderfully. So I'm sending you and your mom lots of prayers and hugs! |
Update! My Mom had the surgery this morning.it took almost 5 hours.she is now out of recovery and in ICU. I have been there since 5:00 this morning.Nurse said I should go home and get some rest now!So far she is stable,so I will go home for a while.Thank you for all your prayers,I know they helped! |

New update :( When I got there this morning I was told she had been having seizures all night! and no one called me. they don't know what's wrong,she may have had a stroke or maybe suffered some brain damage from the surgery.they just don't know.she had a ct scan done this morning and will have another done tonight,so we won't know anything new till tomorrow morning.Please keep praying for her! |
Oh no!!...I'm so sorry your mom is having difficulties!.....I hope you hear something encouraging from her ct scan.....It sounds like your mom isn't conscience?.....I really am so sorry for her, I will be wishing her well and I hope she will recover from whatever is doing this to her....... Another update.My Mom still has not come out of the sedative.(since Friday).another ct scan was done, still showed nothing.will do another EEG this morning. they still don't know if it's a stroke or something else.nothing is showing up! Blood preasure is still up and down.We keep telling her she has to come home and see Bentley! He keeps sittting by her bedroom door,waiting for her.He sure misses her.She's always here with him while my husband and I are at work.he keeps looking around,like where's Grandma?:confused:On my way back there now.Keep us in your thoughts |

Update on my Mom.Surgery was Fri.and she still is having a hard time.She only opens her eyes when we tell her to.She can now shake her head yes or no.but she has no feeling in her left arm and hand.she is still on the ventilator to help her breathe.if she does good today, they may take that off this afternoon.her heartrate was really high yesterday-150-160 range.so keeping an eye on that now.they say she's recovering very well from the surgery for the aneurism,we just don't know why she has no feelings on her left side. and she just doesn't want to wake up.She shakes her head yes,that she misses Bentley.! and he misses his "Grandma" |
