Hubby has neuropathy and has had nerve studies done so he gave me an idea of what to expect. I am not looking forward to it, but at least I'll have an idea about where I am.

That is EXACTLY how they do it!!!:D:D But with me they waited till one of my eyeballs POPPED OUT and rolled off the table!:eek: lol!
OK as long as you have a clue, I just didn't want you walking in there with no idea. as I'm sure your Hubby can vouch they are not pleasent:( Be sure to let me know how it went.:)

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow, but if you're going for an EMG or NCS, they truly aren't that bad. I can tell you that for a fact because I had them after a back injury. Just take a book you like with you, and ignore the procedures. You really will be able too. Your biggest distraction from the book will be people talking, not the tests, so just filter that part out.

Cindy, my prayers are on their way. I have a dear friend who was a passenger in car that hit a pole several years ago resulting in severe nerve damage. She has a small machine attached to her so she can administer her own pain meds directly as needed. Hopefully, you will pass your test with much better grades. God Bless.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. I will spare you the sortid details of the test - it was horrid. Anyway that the doctor deterined that there is permanent tibial nerve damage. The damage could have been sustained due to the accident or during surgery to repair the fibula and tibia. The prognonis is not good - the only way to determine if the damage can be repaired is through surgery. And even if the nerve is repaired I might still have pain. So, I am waiting for an appointment with yet another specialist.

:( gggrrr and all because of my spurty temper and a 4-wheeler.

Cindy, so sorry to hear the news wasn't what you'd hoped. I'll be praying that they'll find some way to get you relief from the pain (F)

I'm sorry Cindy you have some nerve damage... and I'm sorry your in pain. I had nerve damage caused when I broke my neck 12 years ago, and altough I lost feeling in some parts of my body I don't have any pain thank God. I'll be praying for you so the pain may ease and go away, even if there ris nothing the medicine can do, God is all powerful :)

so sorry to hear this. I had a friend who had nerve damage from a surgery she had. Her meds were just as bad as the nerve damage. She would be so whacked out when she took her pain pills that she felt the pain from the injury was not as bad as the "cure".

Oh no. I am so sorry it wasn't the news you wanted. Even though the test was awful for you, maybe they have more information now and can start finding a better way to treat you.

You know you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh Cindy you poor thing this wasn't the news we were all praying for. I hope it isn't too painful and perhaps in time it will lessen for you. Huggs and continued prayers.

I just read your doc. report, chattiesmom. I am so disappointed for you. Have been thinking about you and hoping for an exciting positive report. Read this with tears in my eyes. As mentioned, maybe the tests will help the docs come up with some better solutions for your pain. Love and hugs,

Friends, I am overwhelmed by your surrounding me with your prayers, love and good wishes. Thank you. Things like this are so much easier to handle when you know that others are "with you" in spirit.

I am hoping that the visit with the surgeon on July 23rd will shed more light on the situation.
