That is so cool! I've never seen one before. |
I've never seen one either. They are such a cool looking bird. Do they really run fast? |

He heard you were having a 4th July cookout and decided to come and have a little nap on the hammock....:) |
I think they're so cute! We used to have one that would run up into our courtyard and run right up to our front door which was all glass...like he knew exactly where he was going, LOL. And he'd stand there and look in for a few minutes and then, our hallway was adjacent to the front door and was all glass too, and he'd run along there looking in..it was the funniest thing...it was like he knew we were expecting him and nobody was there to let him in the front door, so he was running along the hallway windows to see where we might be:). Now we just have ones who torment Max and Madison and run along the top of the stucco wall in the back yard....they're pretty interesting birds, but messy:rolleyes:..course, what bird isn't?? |
Wow, what a treat to find a RR in your yard. That is so cool! Looks like he was quite comfortable in your yard and made the rounds before taking off again. And a  to Sunnie for being such a good boy and coming when called. Mine would have been chasing him just like Wylie Cyote did in the cartoon. And I'm sure the RR would have won again too. :p |
Awwwww, I wish I'd have been quick enough to grab my camera the other day.... oddly enough, we had a roadrunner in our yard too!! I say ODD because we're right smack dab in the middle of Oklahoma City, OK.... (actually, we're SW OKC, but you get my point, haha) - strange to see a RR up here amidst the city streets and traffic! Great pictures of your little visitor!!! :) |
Thanks so much for posting those pics b/c like many others I have never seen one (aside from the cartoon) lol so now I can say that I've actually seen how they should look. |
When I was looking at the first few pictures, I thought wow...he is big. Then when I saw him on the hammock, I thought he looked so little!! :p I showed my hubby and he said when he was a kid they lived in Arizonia and they saw them all the time. He did say they can get big. On one of the pics I could see he has some orange on his face. He is pretty. Thanks for sharing. :animal-pa |
Wow, what an odd-looking bird! Interesting. |
Really enjoyed your pics. Also enjoyed the other posts. Very educating. Had to chuckle at some of the RR's antics that were posted. Thanks. |
I love roadrunners!!! I see them frequently in my back field. Love the picture!! |
