Prayers Needed Desparately!
 

This is not yorkie related nor is it furkid related, but I know the power of prayer and this boy needs them desparately! My husband and I went for a ride to go look at a home we thought about purchasing, when we left there, right down the road from it on a curve was a truck flipped into a tree. I screamed for hubby to stop, their may still be someone in it, he backed up and all I could hear was the most horrifying scream I've ever heard in my life. I started to run toward the truck (it was still running, the back wheels were turning really fast in the tree and I could think was OMG, it's gonna blow! A kid came screaming ad crawling over the top of it. I ran to get him and he fell off the truck and hit the ground. Hubby ran to get a cell out of our jeep and call 911, and I got the kid to work with me to get him away from the truck and back by our jeep. OMG you guys, his arm looks like it went through a meet grinder. Bone, tendons, muscle, veins, all exposed from his hand all the way up his to his shoulder, the whole top half and side of it. Half his ear is gone, he has a huge gash in his head and the back of his neck looks like his arm. I got him on the ground by the jeep and ran to my husband and got his shirt off him and ran to the jeep to get a knife. I wripped the shirt apart and tied off at the very top of his shoulder to try and stop the blood. I hope I did the right thing. He had a puddle of blood on his chest. He's only 16 YEARS OLD, JUST got his license and was driving home from work in the pouring rain. Please, anyone who prays, please pray for him. His name is Curtis. I was able to get his Step Dads number from him before he really started losing it and my hubby called him after he got off the phone with 911. My extra cell is toast from the rain but I don't care, I just want that boy to be ok. If he doesn't lose his arm or his life, he's gonna have a very long road ahead of him to recovery. It makes me cry now, the boy kept saying, I was supposed to go to my Dads tomorrow, he kept sayin it over and over, and then he looked at his arm and stared sayin, no, I wanted to go to the army and fight for my country, how am I gonna do it now? That boy is lucky to be alive and all he could think about was fighting for his country and seeing his Dad tomorrow. I'm gonna go so I can call is Step Dad and see how he's doing. Please, I beg of you, say prayers for this boy, he needs them desparately. Thank you so much in advance.

Praying he make a good recovery. Thank God you were there to help. He could have died there had you not come along. Please keep us posted. That is a parents worst nightmare and I know they must be so greatful you and your husband stopped to help.

OH my God! What a terrible thing to come upon, but thank God you DID and were able to help him! I'm so sorry for you and for him and will definitely keep Curtis in my prayers. Let them know at the hospital that there's a lot of people praying for him.
I'm sure that he'll be ok and you did a wonderful thing by stopping to help. Let us know how he's doing when you hear. :hands::hands::hands:

OMG that poor boy!! I am so glad you came upon the accident when you did! My prayers are going out to Curtis! Please keep us updated if you learn of his condition.

Thank all of you for your prayers, Curtis really needs them. I talked to his Step Dad about 2 hours ago and he said the doc said that he shouldn't lose his arm. He said that the doc said he's looking at a really long road to recovery and they'll have to do very extensive skin graftings but he should be able to keep his arm. They were sewing his neck up when I called and talked to the Step Dad. Can you believe his arm IS NOT broken???!!! For the way his arm looked, I thought for sure they'd have to take it. If you've ever ground meet up in a meet gringer, then just think of that, that's how it looks. He has a concussion and part of his ear is gone, but he can still hear. They did a full body scan and thank God they didn't find anything else wrong. I'm just so thankful to God my husband and I were out that way looking at a house to buy, it's way out in the country and God only knows if anyone else would have came by. I asked his Step Dad if it was ok to keep calling him (the Step Dad) to see how Curtis was doing (I don't want to distract them or be a pain but my husband and I are really concerned and would just like to know how he's doing. He said yes, please do keep calling, he said Curtis keeps asking for us, (bless his heart) that he wants to see us. I know the agonizing pain he was in there at the accident today so we're gonna wait a few days and I asked the Step Dad if we could come see him at the hospital. he said yes, that Curtis would like that. I believe so much in the power of prayer and I thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart for praying for Curtis. He's gonna have so much more to go through for quite some time, so if any of you wouldn't mind, any continued prayers would be great! You're all the best bunch of people and I thank you so much. I'll update probably more tomorrow as it's late and I don't wanna take up the families time by keeping them on the phone, I imagine their at their witz end with worry right now. I'm going to call tomorrow though and I'll update when I hear more. Thanks again so much.

Sounds like you were his angel tonight. Thank God you were there. May God Bless Curtis and You too. Prayers coming his way. I'm so sorry you had to see this, but at the same time, you were there for a reason.

Oh, Tracy, thank God you and your husband were out there!! I'm reminded ... "all things work together for good ... "! I will certainly be praying for Curtis and his family ... he sounds like a good boy. God bless you and hubby for being there for him. Please let him and his family know that we will be praying for him and a full recovery!

I will most definately let him and his family know. My heart just breaks in pieces for him though cause of the severe pain he was in and knowing what he's looking at down the road of recovery. At least he's alive though and for that, I'm so thankful.

OMG Tracy, how horrible! Thank goodness you and DH were out looking at that house, or it may have been worse. Poor boy. Sending many of P&PT out to Curtis and his family, and many of hugs to you and your DH for being there and helping :)
BTW what road did this happen on, or by what town? Are you guys thinking of moving back my way again?!?! ;)

Hi Erin, it happened on Deerfield road out in Marshallville, but headed into Clinton. I'd love to move back out towards Shreve, the country is something else out there, but it's to far from hubbies work:( We're actually looking here in Wadsworth, but I had seen this place online while looking at houses last night and asked hubby if we could just drive by and see it, even though I knew Marshallville wasn't an option for us (the boys are still in school and I don't wanna take them out of this school system, they do so good here.) Anyhow, hubby said ok, we can go look at it and then when we left, we found the truck up on it's side still running and then everything happened. I'll never forget that poor boys scream and I felt so bad for having to tie his shoulder off, it had no meat on it and I was pushing on bare muscle, tendons and ligaments, I felt awful, but it had to be done. He still had a puddle of blood though but I pulled it as hard and as tight as I could. Ross and I wanna go see him this weekend sometime if he feels up to it. I hope they have him on some good pain medication cause that young man was in tormenting pain.

OMG Tracy, Thank God you told your hubby to stop........It must have been the lords sign for you to go look at that house. You were and angel set for that boy!!!!!

Curtis and his family are in our prayers tonight, as are you and your family.

Curtis is in our prayers and I am sure that he will have some work ahead of him in the healing department. Also, this was very traumatic for him and he will have to deal with this also and I think that is where you will be very important, as he will probably want/need to remember details to help him get past this horrible accident.
He is so very lucky that you happened to come upon the accident and I am sure that God sent you into his path for this very reason........ God bless.

Thanks for the update. I am so glad he will not lose his arm but he will have a long recovery ahead. Thankfully ypung people bounce back pretty quickly, I will keep him in my prayers. Look forward to more updates as he goes thru his recovery.

It's actually kind of weird and touches home for me in a sense that I kind of know what he'll be going through with the "trying to remember part" of it. I'm not sure what year it was in but I think it was in 2000, I'd have to ask my hubby or one of our kids to be sure, but my daughter and I was in a serious four wheeler accident and I suffered traumatic brain injury (two subarachnoid hemmorhages (sp) and a subdural hematoma) in english that basically means three brain bleeds. I was pretty much stuck on stupid for a year and to this day I still don't remember the accident, I only know what my daughter has told me about it. I have a lil trouble here and there with short term memory loss but for the biggest part, I'm ok. It's changed my life forever and I know this accident with Curtis has changed his life forever. It's very traumatizing and him having to go through everything with his arm and it healing is only part of the healing process, he'll have emotional things he has to deal with as wel and that in itself is a very hard thing to do. Still to this day, I won't drive unless I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. I know it sounds stupid but I get scared when I drive, which in turn makes me have trouble remembering things, so, I just won't drive unless I have to. Curtis has a lot to get through and I know God won't let him down, he brought him through this accident for a reason. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, I know Curtis needs them.

I think that God sent you to see that house because he knew that you would be able to help Curtis both now and on his road to recovery since you have been through a similar experience. Thank goodness that you were there and I hope that he will be recover quickly. Sending our prayers for Curtis.

God works in mysterious ways...he sent you and your husband to Curtis...That young man has a higher purpose....bless you!
