Ear candling I went and had my ears candled today (a homeopathic doctor puts special candles in your ears, lights them, and they draw wax out of your ear) and I can't rave enough about it. While it was NOT a quick fix to my sinus infection I saw all the stuff that came out and I can see why i'm prone to sinus infections. I will be going back in a month to have it done again. I highly recommend this for anyone who suffers sinus infections, ear infection, migraines, allergies or balance problems. They can even do it for dogs!!!! I imagine if you have a dog with frequent ear infections this would help a lot! |
I've heard the term, but never new what it was. It makes me wonder who came up with the idea of sticking a lit candle in someone's ear. Anyway, I'm glad it worked for you. The relief must feel so good. |

I have used them at home. You can buy them in an herbal store. Someone lights the candle and holds in your ear. You can unroll the end and see all the yucky stuff that was in your ear. I love them. |
I have heard of them, but I have never been brave enough to use one. I might have to check them out at the herbal shop. |

Im pretty sure you might be able to get them at like..Walmart and similar places. My friend did one at home once.. |
Very interesting. I have chronic ear problems. I have ezcema in my ears and the medicine I use for that blocks up my ears and I have to go to my ENT all the time to get them cleared out. This sounds like something I maybe could try at home. It didn't hurt at all? |

if you do it at home.. it is VERY important to get a suction. i'm sure the directions will mention that. |
I've done this at home several times also. It doesn't hurt at all. I just cut a hole in a paper plate for the candle to sit in (so no ash gets on you by mistake), laid on my side and lit the candle. Mine took about 10 to 15 minutes per ear. The worst part to me was the smell of the candle burning. I tried doing it outside once, but it doesn't work as good because slight breezes mess it up. It's kind of neat in a weird way. :p |

Naturally she went back and got two more and they both did both ears! I might have to give it a try! :) |

We have done it for years but do it outside. i hate the waxy burning smell that it makes. We just wait until it isn't a breezy day. We get ours at the health food store! :) |
that is soo gross but at the same time is probably pretty cool. I always want to do the cupping thing and see all the grodie toxins come out. :( yick |
Ihave done it too and everyone is right it feels great. You get a clean weird feeling when its done. Not a bad weird just a clean feeling.. I dont think that just made sense |
I've wanted to do this for some time now...I didn't know you can buy the stuff to do it yourself! :yay_jump: |
I haven't tried this, but my best friend's fiance does it all the time at home. |
I'd be afraid to do this at home. I'd probably singe all my hair off. |
We have always done this in my family as far back as my great-great grandmother although we do not use a candle we actually use a piece of large paper. (newspaper now adays) and shape it into a cone and burn it. Always works to clear out the ear canals never singed any hair either:):) |
when we were young my mom used to do them out of newspaper... she would roll it up in a cone and light the tip .. did the same effect..... it felt great afterwards..... don't know if its the same? |
I do it at home all the time also! I buy them at the health food store. No pain....it's pretty cool;)!! |
hmm that sounds very interesting! I'm gonna have to look into this. |
I've been interested in this for a while. I always thought it would hurt or feel really uncomfortable. I read the post about doing it for the dogs...that would be difficult with keeping them still, wouldn't it? |
What does it feel like..does it hurt? There's this place nearby that does it but i never knew what it really was but i always was interested |

Does the hoolow sound go away right away. I have a fear of getting that constant ringing in my ears. |
Does this take long? The place I called a while back said it took 90 minutes to do both ears? What about the cost? |
