KC Meetup-What have you learned? I was thinking this morning about all the fun I've had this weekend, and how many wonderful people and yorkies we've met! This was quite the experience, :) and I've enjoyed it so much! I realized I have learned a lot about other people, their dogs, from vendors, about traveling, etc, and even about my own dog. So... What have you learned during your weekend in KC? I have learned that when travelling, a stroller is indispensible! We never had one, and this was the weekend when I don't know what we would have done without one. It was great when we were eating, shopping, and walking to and from different things. Also, I never realized that Milli has such different coloring than other yorkies-many of the other YT'ers have commented on her pretty coloring :). I got to see so many different colors, shapes, sizes and "looks" among all the yorkies who came to KC! They are all so beautiful! |
Sounds like it was quite an experience! I would have loved to be there! Maybe next year!:D |
I learned that I missed out on a whole lot of FUN! :( I didn't get to go this year due to work schedules/summer school for kids. I am glad lots of other YTers got to meet and have fun though! Next time I plan on being in on the fun too! |
~*~ Bump ~*~ |
I learned that we can have an image or idea in our head about who someone is and be oh, so wrong - lol. I learned that my belief that Yters were wonderful, generous, loving people is absolutely correct!! :) And yes, for someone who never thought they would own a dog stroller - this stroller newbie found out how wonderful it is to have - especially to eat dinner ;) -- and I learned that my dogs don't mind being in the stroller. |

One thing that I got a few times is that people thought that I was much older than I am-some thought I was a retiree! Some thought this because Milli's name sounds old-fashioned, when in reality it's because of her full AKC name (Suzy's Million Dollar Sapphire), and some thought I was older b/c of the lack of creativity in my YT screen name-I just wanted to be myself, LOL. I am actually 26 and I don't think I act old... |
Lets see I learned That YTers are Fabulous!!!! Learned that Lisa Is a GREAT Lady and Planed the Event Great and Every thing was wonderful! I learned so much about everyone. They were all so nice! I also learned theat Kodi is even more of a social butterfly than I thought he was. Oh and that that Vanilla Vodka was really Yummy LOL |

Suzy, I knew you were young because in another thread a long time ago, you posted you were in your twenties... ...but... ...before that, I thought you were older too :p:rolleyes: |
I learned that so many YT members are so totally cool and fun to hang with!!! And it felt like I was meeting celebrities--people we had "seen" online, and finally got to meet in person. Such a unique experience! |
I learned that i missed out on a lotta fun as well:( |
I learned that meeting YT members is even more fun than I expected!! I also learned that nothing beats meeting people in person. You may have seen photos, e-mailed, etc., but some people are very different from what you imagined... and some are right on! Also, it turns out that Riley is quite the shy girl when it comes to situations like this. I was very surprised to see her wanting my lap for safety more often than not. Guess that means she needs more meetups! :D Oh, and I also found some new friends that I really hadn't gotten to know here on YT so that was wonderful as well! |
I learned that everyone was SO VERY nice and fun! We just had a great time. I also learned that KC is really hot but so pretty and green! |
I didn't learn one darn thing!!:( I wasn't able to go. I missed out on all the fun. |
I'm so glad everyone had so much fun-we sure did! Yorkiecrazy, hope you can make it next year!!! We missed ya! |
I too learned that strollers are the best!!!! I learned that Misty is really Misty in ca....not inca. I also saw in person what I already felt in my heart...We really are family!!!!! |
I learned Lacy is a grumpy brat that needs training...seriously, I'm hiring a private trainer to help us work with her growling issues. I also learned that there are some WONDERFUL YT members, and I had so much fun getting to know them better! |
LOL Lacy was a little grumpy-but so was Milli :) I think it was just a lot of over stimulation for them all! Milli was EXHAUSTED by the time we got home, and was so happy to see Emma-and then she promptly crawled into her bed and took a LONG nap! I loved meeting you & Lacy and Riley too-they are adorable in their many matching outfits! |
I learned that you all are just as crazy as I am about your babies!! O.K. maybe, I'm just a little bit crazier...with the matching outfits and all!! I learned that Kansas City, MO is a place I would like to go back to and visit again. It had good food and nice parks and scenery and decent shopping!! I learned that Brooke likes sleeping on Misty's feet... And that I love Cheesy Corn! And that Brooke has 2 look alikes in Riley and Sukoshi!! |
I already knew that YTers are fabulous people - but the meet-up further cemented this!!!!!!!!!! I learned lots about nutrition that I didnt know. I learned the seeing little furbutts in strollers pushes "others" over the edge. I learned that I am very normal when it comes to my babies, especially among other YTers!!!!!!!! I learned that a weekend is definitely not enough for a meet-up like this. I learned that Sissy and Angel do just fine around a few other yorkies, but a large group freaks them out and they just want mommy. I also learend that Angel really liked Izzy and Cyndi and she even jumped ship and slept with Cyndi one night!!!!!!!! |

I learned that McDonald's coffee is really, really, really hot and that the cups are not all that sturdy, especially when the lid isn't all the way on and you get a large size. That poor little old lady who sued McDonald's must have been badly burnt. My hand is now blistered from the coffee spill - so that means a 2nd degree burn from coffee!!!!!! And, blisters even though I had an iced water bottle on my hand for hours afterwards!!! |
:eek::eek: Jodie I hope you are Ok. That sounds like it hurts (((((((HUGS))))) One thing a Knew but confirmed in KC You are just as sweet as I always though you were:) and yours girls are Beautiful. Quote:

I'll survive :D It hurt badly the entire first day, but it doesn't hurt now, just itching as it is starting to heal. I think I'm going to have a humdinger of a scar though. Thank you for your compliment on both me and my girls. You are a sweetie, also and I hope to meet Bree someday too!!! |

OMG I learned so much about travel, YTers, Izzy, nutrition, training, etc...where do I begin. I learned too that I am "normal" when it comes to how I feel and take care of Izzy..so comforting to know that others feel and do the same with their babies.:D I learned that Izzy is a great traveler and became best friends with Angel and Sissy and also had a second mommy in Jodie! I learned so much about the "raw" feeding and not what I expected. Thank goodness Jodie had her girls on The Honest Kitchen because I learned that Izzy did not want any of her kibble while in KC and we were worried about her not eating so we tried the yogurt every morning and THK each evening. Then after hearing Kyle speak..we have now switched over to raw and Izzy is loving it with no problems in the potty arena - no need to gradual switch. I learned that I love my YT family even more after meeting all of you wonderful ladies and babies. I leanred that I have a new best friend up in Michigan..love you Jodie.:D Oh yeah....I learned too that the stroller at times pushed some people (not all) over the edge. Who cares....it certainly came in handy at the hotel when schleping tons of baggage to the 5th floor. And we were able to get in shops with them when normally if on leashes we could not. And finally I learned that we really need to do this yearly as I miss you all so much.;) |
My FAMILY learned that I am not as crazy as they think! LOL! And I also learned that we are very similar women, no matter what kind of generation gaps we have! :p I never had awkward moments talking to everyone, and had the best time socializing! So did my pups! I learned that Tbone is a LADIES MAN! He was so overwhelmed by all the cuteness! :D He wouldn't even begin to know who to ask to next year's Vday ball!!! |
Love hearing your stories...keep them coming! So.....question: what is up w/ the strollers? Did people in KC give you all slack for using them? --just curious! |
I have learned that getting to know someone is soooo much better in person than online  I have learned also that Annika continues to remain "anti-social" so more meet-ups will be helpful  I have learned to appreciate other vendors hard work when they show off their wonderful work of . . . I have learned how invaluable a stroller really is when travelling . . . . I will make sure I take mine on my next trip. hopefully there will be more people attending next year's meet-up! The more the merrier. |
