Where to start... I learned that while meeting people via the internet and on forums is great, nothing replaces meeting someone in person. I mentioned on another thread that I was overwhelmed with the beauty and twinkle in everyone's eyes at the meet up. The energy of such passionate loving women was incredible. I learned that Lucy is a bit shy. We're taking care of that by committing to attend the SoCal meet ups. I also learned Rhonda lives near me and I can get to know her better! I learned that those younger than me are so much more mature than I was at their ages! I think that's why I was under some age misconceptions :p I came away feeling we were all ageless. I learned that as shy as I think I am, that when I was in the company of the such amazing women over the weekend I wasn't shy at all! I also learned that I am absolutely crazy about Des! Her energy and smile just light up a room and just being around her kept a smile on my face - silly but true :) I learned that even if it means leaving my luggage at home I will bring Lucy's stroller next time. I learned that no matter what I will attend the next meet up. I hope there is going to be one. Lisa did such an incredible job as did all those that helped :) |

I learned that "international" doesn't necessarily mean out of the country and I shouldn't ignore the next thread so I can be included in all the fun next time. :D |

We did have some rude comments. At the restaurant we had lunch at, the table of ladies sitting behind us commented on "how ridiculous" it was and would "never use one", "don't they know dogs are supposed to walk on leashes?". And then after the PJ party, one very toasted woman came up and commented on how "high maintenance" yorkies were and why the dogs couldn't walk. Since it is pretty pointless trying to talk sense into a drunk person, we just agreed and walked on. Since I've had my stroller for over a year and used it on vacation last year in Myrtle Beach, I think I've heard it all. Mostly about being stupid that they are "walked" in the stroller. Since I don't actually "walk" my girls in their stroller, I just ignore the ignorant comments. If someone asks me why I use a stroller, I am more than happy to tell them that because of their size it keeps my girls safe and secure (except when Angel escapes through the handle area ) and also allows them in places that wouldn't normally. I also like the fact that they aren't picking up any germs from strange places on their feet, but I keep that to myself :p!!! |
hahaha..I learned some of the same previously mentioned.. (Misty-in-CA not Misty-Inca), I'm not the only "yorkie-obsessed" gal... I learned that Daisy is very anti-social... I learned that I am more impulsed to shop when I see YT vendors... I learned that bulls are hilarious after a few martinis.... I learned that there are some who will dress in the same fabric as their furbaby AND their carrier/sling..:D I learned that yorkie pajama parties do exist...and they're fun too! I learned that Sexiixtc is not "Sexasty" or "Sexity" or "Sex and the City" but "Sexy-x-t-c" :D |
Well while you were all having a great time in KC .... I learned that even an old lady like me can learn to kick her own butt!!!!!! anne |

This is such a great thread! Kathy: You made some very great points. I wondered sometimes if you were having fun, you seemed mildly reserved (mostly because a lot of us are OVERLY outgoing!), but I think you are a wonderful observer and really saw a lot of wonderful things over the weekend. It really was awesome to meet you! Jodi: Too funny! I'm glad I wasn't there on Saturday night, because knowing me, I'd have had just as much as that woman, and would have told her just what I thought. I'm surprised you didn't. I had my family convinced by the weekend that the strollers were very useful and handy, when on friday they were shocked to see them. Lea: Even funnier! Your observations crack me up! I LOVED the matching outfits, my sister thought it was the coolest thing she saw there! I had no idea about Edith's username either! but now I feel like I know her by name, so probably won't pay attention to it anymore! I feel like I'm doing that with everyone, thinking more of them by name now! |
hahah you guys are too funny... I didn't know my username was THAT hard to pronounce:p hehehehe geez what was I thinking?! I learned soo many things.. so where do I start and where do I end?! OK.. the MOST IMPORTANT thing is: you ALWAYS need a stroller when traveling ANYWHERE!! trust me! as much as the girls hated it... it was so wonderful for me.. not to have both my hands in two different directions and worring about who got tangled under what chair:rolleyes: you ALWAYS need a stroller.. even if you use it once every 5 years another thing.. Sukoshi's name isn't SUkoshi.. it's S'koshi.. the U is silent... duh... and she's SUCH a cutie.. especially in her real baby stroller (such a good girl) hmm.. another very important thing.. although you talk to so many people online and think you may know them.. you really don't..... It isn't until you actuall meet them do you "meet" them.. and then you STILL don't know them... I met so many people and only spent a short time with with most (I do hope to get to know you guys better soon).. But even that short amount of time brought me closer to everyone.. And Lisa is AWESOME!!! so well-organized and kind.. she is such a sweetheart!!! I ddin't want to take up her time since she was busy with everything.. but she is just the kindest human being alive.. (oh course she gets that from her mom:)) AND I also learned that I really do hope we have anohter meetup next year (Chicago hint hint).. because these meetups are SOOOOOO worth it!!! Trust me! althought it's just a few short days.. it's so wonderful to put names to faces (although it took me a while longer:rolleyes::p... (horrible memory) it's just priceless) Thanks everyone! |
