Seedless watermelon Is not seedless!!! Why do they call it seedless? There are tons of thoes white ones in there. I swear it's harder to eat then the seeded ones  I vote that it's name be changed to Tons-O-White-Seeded watermelon or Not-So-Seedless watermelon. Sorry had to vent :p |
I said the same thing the last time I ate one. |
Ha Ha! I remember the first time I ate a "seedless" watermelon that my grandparents grew....yep, it has several what seeds in them...but they told us just to eat them! They said....they have to have seeds in them...how do you think we keep getting watermelons! Quote:

So then it should be albino seeded watermelons...lol |
How about "seedless surprise" watermelon....the surprise being...there ARE seeds!!! |
oh I like the name Albino seeded watermelon bizzymammabee! |
what about ghost seeded melons. Should be a big marketing ploy. |
LOL! Jenn your to funny :yelrotflm Ok so albino seedless suprise it is.. |
We could say that the ghostly albino seeds cause magical weight loss! |
well sign me up I can use a few of those watermelons. |
Ha:biggrin: If only!!! You know, I love watermelon and it is listed in several "diets" for a good cleanse and good weight lose food....but others mention how high in sugar it is...but it is natural sugar, so that is definitely better than refined sugar.......BOY, they make it confusing, don't they!?! |
no kidding! Well we'll have to add Seedless watermelon to the list of other mis named food such as jumbo shrimp and chicken lobster! What are some other misnamed foods? |
These days your only allowed to subside on water and air and then again that is bad for you too ;0) |
Speaking of watermellons has anyone tried the smaller watermellons? Those are my favorites |

Watermelons have to be one of my favoriet fruits. It's hard becuase no one in my family eats fruits so if I cut a watermelon I better be prepared to eat it all myself and pee all night long. Lulu used to love watermelon. Last summer she and I ate a lot and I don't know which of us peed more :D. It was funny because post eating she went to pee and she looked like she got frutrated waiting to finish...she kept looking up at me like ok I should be done now...any minute now (my poor baby). |
do the small ones have the ghostly albino seeds in them? I want to try them but they are pretty expensive :) |

Mojo and LG love watermelon too, but I make sure they don't have much...which makes them mad! But they do LOVE watermelon!! |
I'll have to try one :D I hate it when watermelon isn't really ripe and they just taste like water. When you cut one and it's a nice dark red you always think oh yummy! |
Question......what is the proper  way of telling if a watermelon is good? I remember last year, we picked up one from a road side stand...cut into the next day and it was rotten inside (gushy, smelly, gross). AND do you keep yours in the refrig. until you are ready to cut into it? Anyone have any good watermelon recipes....(not to get too far off topic)...but now I am craving a good watermelon!!!:dribble: |

Good questions Jenn. I'm not sure how to tell if they are ripe enough though. If it's a whole melon I keep it out of the fridge until I cut it. I haven't seen any good recipes but I do make a great fruit dip using vanilla pudding, cream cheese, cool whip and some powdered sugar all mixed together. It's a great fruit dip :p |

Ok .. I am generally a good watermelon picker outter. I tap it with an open hand and listen to the sound.... it is a rich thump sound.... hard to explain. After I cut my melons, I keep them in the frig. And the best recipie I have for watermelons is to buy one cut it open and dive in :) |

I remember someone saying something about you can tell by their "bottoms"!? I have no clue...maybe if they are too yellow or something? I have no clue! That is how we eat them here....just thought I might expand our watermelon horizons w/ fun recipes! :D |
Do any of you eat watermellon with salt on it. It sounds gross but it is so good |
