I'm praying for you and your friend; I know this must be very difficult for you now. May God give you both the strength that you need, optimism is a great thing, it's another form of hope. |

You are your friend are in my prayers. Keep your chin up! |
My prayers are joining the ones already going up for your friend. Please keep your optimism! Your friend needs positive people with her now, and I'm sure you're going to be good medicine for her. |

I'll keep you and your sister in my thoughts and prayers . |
I don't know what I'd do if I got word that my sister had cancer. I'm so sorry. This is going to be a long road for both of you if the Dr. is right. I have only one question that is puzzleing me. How does the Dr. know the cancer has spread if he doesn't know where it is? I'm sorry, I just feel like there is hope here for your sister. I believe in the miracle of prayer, so I'm going to be sending mine your sisters way and hopefully there will be many more from others. |
I'm so sorry that you both have to go thru this, but where there is life, there is HOPE! Being optimistic is a wonderful thing, and miracles occur everyday. I hope that she'll do just fine. She's so lucky to have such a loving and good friend as you:love:. You'll both be in my prayers! |
hope hope is everything..and miracles do happen. i know its a difficult time but i pray for you and your sister and just have faith. faith is what keeps us strong dont lose it plz.....hugs to you and good luck |

Just now reading this thread, sending loads of prayers to you and your sister! |
my thoughts and prayers are going out for your sister and you! You NEED to be optimistic... no matter how dire things look on paper, I truely believe a positive attitude goes such a long way! |
I'm sending up my prayers! Of course you should be optimistic, you have to be. That's a big part of beating these types of illnesses. And I believe 100% in the power of prayer and in miracles so don't give up. She's got lot's of prayers coming her way. |
I have just now seen this thread and I would like to add my prayers to the list of loving friends who are praying for your " Frister". I have come to learn how powerful prayer and positive thoughts are and will continue to keep her in mine. We have a wonderful prayer group here and we are all blessed to be part of such a loving caring community. Hugs to you ............ |
My thoughts and Prayers are with you and your Fam. ! |
aww i am sending tons of prayers and hugs your way... |
Just when you think you couldn't possibly have any more tears .... I read all your sweet, thoughtful, caring posts and there they are again! Thank you all so much! She came through the surgery fine ... the cancer has only spread to her lymph glands, which they removed along with her left breast. I was so afraid that it had spread other places. All the tests they did showed none in her bones, brain, etc. So, I am just so thankful they are relatively certain that they got it all ... what a relief. Just like I keep telling her, we'll lick this ... we're "Steel Magnolia's" ... tough old birds!! :) She is such a clown ... knocked on my door on her way to the hospital early this AM [we were at the same hotel] ... she said "look down there" [long hallway with green carpet] ... she just told her daughter, "look, I'm walking the long green mile"!!! We about fell in the floor laughing! She will also have chemo & radiation .. her daughter is buying her a pink wig [if she needs it!]!! OK ... we're a little different ... we laugh to keep from crying!! :) But ... Patrick and I came home from Denver a few hours ago ... her daughter is staying with her and we are doggysitting Shira ... so, she is doing well, I'm home and I can now cry my eyes out!!! Thank you all so much for your prayers and we're gonna need lots more before this is over. I will update you all tomorrow. |
Praise GOD it hadn't spread, the doctor's sound optmistic and your frister sounds to be in good spirits. That's GREAT! Angie |
I have been thinking of you and your sister for several days. I am glad that it has not spread. And acting 'crazy' and having a good laugh is just what you both need! :D |
Bettyeanne, I am just reading this. I am happy that the surgery went well. I will keep you and your sister-girlfriend in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to you both. |
I am very sorry to hear this. I will be keeping you and your sister in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong and take care of YOU as well. |
I am so glad the surgery was a success! I'll keep the prayers coming :) |
I am so happy that everything went well! God is good and the outcome will be good as well :) |
BettyAnne I am just now seeing this thread. Thank heavens her surgery went well and the cancer had not spread. That was a true blessing. Prayer's are on their way for your sister to have a complete recovery. |
Prayer changes things and this looks like a really good example. I am so happy for your friend. She is going to be not only okay but very fortunate to have a friend like you. |
Bettyeanne - Just read your update. I am so very thankful that the surgery went as well as it did and that the surgeons were able to get all the cancer. I will continue to keep your "frister", you and Patric (and Toto of course) in my thoughts and prayers. |
Guess who just called me?!?!?!:thumbup: Yep!! She sounded great! Well ... a bit wrung out and loopy, but it was music to my ears! :p It's going to be a long recovery but I think it will be quicker than they predict. The Dr. said 6-8 months of chemo and then 6-8 months radiation ... does that sound about right? I'm going to doube check that with her daughter. That seems like a very long time. I'm just so happy right now! Thank you all again for all the prayers! I know without them, we wouldn't be celebrating this outcome. God bess you all. |
I'm glad that things are looking up for your frister. Thinking about cancer is soo scary. We spent 1 1/2 wks. thinking my sis had lung and spinal cancer. They went to Mayo and she has since been diagnosed with non-tuberculosis-mycobacterium ( or something like that). I'm having a hard time figuring out what it is because of all the medical mumble-jumble. But the fear of cancer just tears at your insides. Hugs to you. Your little furbaby and the one you're babysitting for will help. Did for me. |
