the pic is funny. In the case that you really wanna what the dog is wearing. those dogs have really long hairy ears so to keep them clean before a show (out of the water & food) they put that thing on and the boots are to keep the hair on the feet clean.

This is an afghan hound right? I think they are gorgeous dogs. I would like to have on one day.

Please, please don't get offended but I think that is what some (rude) people think about us guys when we have our babies all dolled up.
I know I went out with Macy this weekend with her new pink harness and bow in her hair and I did get a lot of "oh she is so cute's" but I also got a FEW who told me "you know you have a dog there not a baby!"
I told one guy "really is that why she won't use the diapers? He just looked at me, like I was stupid! Most people are so sweet but some just argghhh get to me!

I know people must thing I am a nut for dressing up mine. I think this pic is funny becuase it is a large dog. I actually do think the items it is wearing is serving a purpose. It does look like it is gettign ready for a show.

I know alot of people that have Shih Tzu, Cocker Spaniels, Cavalier King Charles
Spaniels etc and don't show buy these hoods so that when they eat their meals, they don't
have to clean them all the time. Aren't you glad our dog's ears are up or if not up
tiny enough not to drop down in the food dish. Never ever ever saw those boots
at a show.

I saw a few dogs at a recent show wearing scarves like that.. but not the boots. There were a few wet areas at the show so that's probably why they wear the boots, to avoid getting their paws dirty and wet. The dog kinda looks like an old lady in that outfit but I think she's a beauty. :)

The scarf and boots reminded me of a Romanian peasant.
I'm sure it is practical. The dog is adorable.
I put my dog in a dress harness that looks kind of silly.

Its an Afghan Hound. So pretty. I think maybe she has the boots on because the hair on their feet is grown out pretty long? Love it.

P.s. I get comments all the time about Stewie wearing a ponytail or a tee shirt. It has kind of calmed down lately because he is "nude" during the summer - its just too hot here for tees and jackets, etc.

Thats what I thought. THis dog reminds me of my grandma. I am not sure what the boots are for. But I had never seen dog boots go up that high on a dog.

Yup! I get it all the time too. People are always commenting "Man, you need a baby!" :rolleyes: And I hardly EVER dress Bailey up

I went to a dog show here once and I saw the same thing and asked the breeder why she wore that and she said that it's to keep their ears and fur clean before they go in for the showing.She also said "the price we pay for beauty"I thought if looked funny but I guess it has a pupose.It seemed like she wasn't the only breeder that wore that for their dogs.Cause I saw a lot of them.
Maybe I should get that for my dogs when they go outside and play :D
