Had a rude awakening at 2:30 am.......... ........to the tornado sirens going off, crazy winds and lots of rain. I got up and turned on the TV and saw that we were in a tornado warning , then BOOM, the power went off. Luckily it was only for a minute or so. Woke hubby, then we and the furbabies went downstairs. Listening to the news, it sounds like there was a tornado sighted about 4-5 miles from where we live  & when we went back up to bed, we took a look outside to find a VERY large branch from a tree in our frontyard broken loose from the tree, but still leaning on the trunk of it hanging over our driveway. There are numerous branches of different sizes in our backyard (I think for the same front yard tree), patio chair blown over, and even our gas grill was moved by the wind. IT IS AMAZING WHAT MOTHER NATURE CAN DO! |
It IS truly amazing what mother nature is capable of.. but personally, I have no desire to see it up close! That's the kind of thing that truly scares me because no one can control it or truly predict what it will do! You must have been so freaked out! |
I am so glad you guys are okay! Wow! |
OMG that would scare the crap out of me! So glad you didn't get hit by the tornado! |
geez....I would have been scared to death. Im glad your ok and had no major damage. |

I've also always thought it would be an awesome site to actually SEE a tornado "live", but ONLY if it was going in the opposite direction from me! |
So glad it missed you. I hate cleaning up after a storm. But the good news is you power is on...unless you have a laptob with a good battery! |
i am glad you guys are okay. That had to have been scary. You ought to see my scrambling around trying to round up my babies to take to the basement when we hear sirens. we have to go outside, then into the basement. |
We took to our basement one evening last week. Sirens were going off and the rain and wind was horrid! TOrnados touched down in a couple of places around us, but we were safe, thank you, Lord Jesus. It was a mess trying to get children and pets downstairs, each time a child would carry a pet down, one would come back up stairs to try and get out of the basement! LOL! Need to come up with a better plan, huh? |
I am so glad to hear that you all are okay! It had to be frightening to experience that! |
Glad everyone is okay! We don't have sirens here for anything, we just have to watch the news and hope to have time to get somewhere if something does hit. |
Being from Oklahoma, you kind of get used to hearing those sirens but I remember right before we moved to Yankme land....ahem..Pennsylvania, we were actually caught in the beginning of what became a few or more tornadoes that hit Moore and OKC area..(1998 for all my Okies). So...not long after we moved up here and I heard that siren...still a bit shaken from the storm..I kind of got scared (shhh!) and of course like a true Oklahoman, I stepped outside to see if I could see a wall cloud, funnel cloud, tornado, monster...nothing. Here, come to find out, they use the same siren for fires. |
I am so glad you are ok. Mother Nature can be so tricky. |
Glad you are okay! People think I am crazy for living in CA, with the earthquakes. But your ordeal sounds pretty scary to me! |
