Ahhh Ohio People Help Tornado?? we are in Findlay right now.. and some sirens are going off... we have a tornado warning... we dont' get these in ontario!! what does the siren mean.. what do we dO??? |
You should go to a basement area if you have one or go to the inner most area of a home, away from windows, closet, under steps, etc.. We went through this twice this week here in the Cincinnati area. Please keep us posted! If you have a radio bring it with you to listen for updates. Stay calm, I know that's hard! |

Ok, well stay away from the windows, best to go in the bathroom and actually into the tub area. What floor are you on? Are the sirens still going off? They do issues sirens for tornados and thunder storms, so I would keep listening to the news to make sure what they are issued for. |

Marci, maybe you need to call the desk and ask if there is a storm shelter in the area. I sure hope you are safe enough. I wouldn't be too concerned about Layla barking right now especially since your watching a pup for a friend who went out to bring back something to eat. ;) |
Marci - go into the bathroom. Keep the door closed and actually get into the tub. If you can, turn on the TV as there should be a scroll across the bottom of the TV telling you what the warnings are - or turn on the radio. Be safe!!!!!! |

Well that's good, it's not a good idea to be on a high floor. I would just stay in the bathroom area and listen for updates. We have had really scary weather in Ohio this week, it's just been awful! Our three babies have had the worst time all week! |

a little while ago all the channels were taken over with the warning but it hasn't happened in about 10 min. The weather channel still says we have a warning but nothing is going on outside.. oh and there is the siren again :( |
It's usually very calm, almost still before a tornado, but hopefully it's just passing on. I just looked on the weather site and it's still saying a warning in that area. I clicked on what else to do, it says it's good to have your pet on a leash or in a carrier. Thank Goodness Layla is calm. We put ours in their crates when the sirens went off and that helped keep them calm. |

I'm sure you will be fine! Like I said before, just keep watching/listening to the news and stay away from the windows and if the sirens go off, I would go into the bathroom/tub area. It's always better to be cautious!! All this heat and humidity it causing all this wacky weather! |
I just looked on the weather site and it now looks like they are just saying a thunderstorm watch, hopefully that's what the local news is now telling you! They may issue sirens for severe thunderstorm warnings too, so if you hear them again, it might not be for a tornado! |
 How scary! Prayers for your safety! |
Marci are the sirens still going off? |
Hoping all is well with you. It is a bit disconcerting to have no update to your earlier posts. |
Hope all is well, Marci. I'm a little worried about you too now. |
I hope all is well! I tried to read some news about the Findlay area and it said minor storm damage in the area and they haven't confirmed that a tornado actually touched. It did say some are without power. Let us know how you and your parents are doing and of course Layla! |
Hi Marcella! Good Morning...... Marcella, I hope that you are OK this morning. I, too, was in Findlay yesterday......but just for a brief moment...:p... I had been in Detroit for work for a few days and we drove back through Findlay about 10:30 am yesterday. The weather was beautiful when we went thru. I guess the storms came in the afternoon. ...............OH, By the way, I met some people from Canada at the hotel in Auburn Hills (Detroit area). They were so much fun!! We watched the hockey game with them in the lounge. |
How scary Marci, I've never heard a tornado siren either. I would just panic and not have a clue what to do. I hope you are all ok today~ |
Hey all. Thanks so much for the help and concern. We are home now (thank God) i don't know how you people do it who live in states where that is NORMAL. Layla was unphased by the whole thing... lol.. slept right through the sirens. I met up with Paula today (diggy4) and she was saying that sirens can go off for a milliion reasons and part of the problem is that people never know what it is for... she said they go off for like fires or nuclear things.. lol.... so we just ended up going to bed and hoping for the best. and we all woke up ok :) So happy to be home but boy this heat is something else! |

Yay! I'm glad you're fine. :) We live in tornado territory here, so I definitely know what those sound like. Hugs to you and sorry it scared you. |
I'm glad you are all ok! Yeah, the heat and humidity is awful this week! I have naturally curly hair and it's been a huge frizzy mess this week! :p We get the sirens for the tornadoes and thunderstorms here, I've never heard of sirens for fires or anything else, but that's enough! |
