I am saddened to say we had to remove our humming bird feeder a few years ago:( We had a really aggressive humming bird that would swoop in and not only chase off the others but it tried to kill them:( It also would not allow us to be outside it would swoop down and try to attack us it was insane!!:eek: so we took it down:(, maybe i will try again hopefully he won't return lol cause i love seeing them! |
Wow! That was some hummingbird! They are quite territorial, aren't they?
Yesterday morning I was sitting on the porch reading the morning paper and heard one behind me. It was about five inches off the ground, going back and forth, over and over again, a distance of about a foot and a half. It did this for a while. I could see nothing there that it was trying to intimidate. Crazy bird.
Later, it did the very same thing right in front of another hummingbird that was sitting on a branch. It just watched it, the sitting bird's head was turning back and forth like folks do at a tennis match. LOL It certainly is amusing to watch them.
I have had them hover right in front of my eyes while I am trying to read. At first, it sort of scared me, but now it doesn't bother me. They are curious little creatures! |
